HiPath 500 – Overview of the options

Professional

HiPath 500 provides a wide range of options for communication in small enter-prises. The public network is accessed through the ISDN carrier. Digital system phones (UP0/E) can be operated together with traditional analog phones, fax machines and entrance telephones. DECT base stations ensure full coverage for cord-less communication using DECT mobile devices. PCs can be connected via the LAN interface, thus enabling employees to use Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) or administration functions via PCs.

Model variants

Depending on company size, HiPath 500 is available in two variants, each with a fixed maximum configuration. The system offers an exceptional scope of services that enables smaller companies in particular to perform business conveniently and effi-ciently.

Telephones

The widest range of modern, digital system phones ensures the right phone can be chosen for every workstation. Clear dis-plays and interactive user prompts mean that users can intuitively learn how to oper-ate these phones. Communication stoper-ates are displayed by the illuminated key con-cept - enabling users to operate phones quickly and directly.

HiPath Cordless Office

HiPath Cordless Office is the ideal solution for cordless telephony in a business envi-ronment. The current DECT mobile devices enable the convenient use of system fea-tures such as the central phone book. Sev-eral DECT base stations guarantee disrup-tion-free connection through roaming and handover.

• Up to three base stations (over UP0/E) • 16 OpenStage Mobile DECT mobile

devices

• Up to 10,000 m2 of area coverage,

depending on the construction of the floors or buildings

Entry Voice Mail (EVM)

All HiPath 500 communications systems are equipped with integrated voice mail with the following scope of features: • 24 personal mailboxes with two

user-specific announcements.

• Incoming messages are indicated on system phone displays.

• Visual signaling via LEDs (function key must be configured).

• Approximately 120 minutes of system storage capacity.

Individual "announcement before answer-ing", for fast call acceptance, or automatic call processing, for targeted patching through suffix dialing, make the entry voice mail especially convenient for callers.

Team functions

Executive/secretary or team functions allow employees to work together more easily. Intelligent call distribution, together with integrated voice mail, greatly improves employee availability for external callers.

myPortal entry Web Services

myPortal entry Web Services offer the opti-mal Unified Communications entry solu-tion for the HiPath communicasolu-tions sys-tem. The services available with this solution come with two different user interfaces that are perfectly tuned to the working environment in which they are applied. Mobile employees access Unified Communications services via myPortal web, a mobile client which offers an opti-mized display for smartphones. Office con-tacts benefit from the myPortal entry desk-top client based on the latest Widget technology.

myPortal entry Web Services

Presence status display

myPortal entry Web Services reduce the uncertainty of if and how your employees can be reached. A single glance gives you information on employee reachability, regardless of whether they are in the office, working from home or are on the road. With myPortal entry Web Services, you can specify your own presence status (e.g. "Office", "Meeting", "Gone out", etc.) and in this way inform your employees and col-leagues of your availability. This can be per-formed not only from your office PC, but also from your cell phone while traveling. The current presence status setting of other employees is updated on your PC or cell phone. This lets them determine imme-diately whether or not a particular employee is reachable.

Optimum reachability

through status-based call

forwarding

Each employee can set up specific call for-warding numbers for each presence status. When employees change their presence status, myPortal entry Web Services auto-matically forwards calls and thus ensures reachability. Lost calls are a thing of the past.

Single voicemail

After returning from a meeting or a trip, employees no longer need to check a num-ber of different mailboxes for voice mes-sages. They can instead use the integrated voicemail function of their HiPath commu-nications system as their sole voicemail box. This mailbox can be conveniently operated on the graphical user interface of myPortal web or myPortal entry. Of course, voicemails can also be requested over the telephone by conventional means. All incoming calls can be directed to users' voicemail boxes based on their presence status and have the myPortal entry Web Services inform them of any messages. The displayed voicemail journal can be used to obtain additional information on the call.

Call journal with call

re-scheduling

Data on all incoming and outgoing calls is recorded in the call journal of the user's office PC. This provides a clear overview of all missed calls, making it possible to respond efficiently. Callbacks can be made directly from the journal with a simple click of the mouse. If the contact needs to be called back at a later time, the automatic call re-scheduling feature can be used. Employees can also make notes to refresh their memories when the re-scheduled call is placed.

Directories

myPortal entry Web Services lets users quickly access the phone numbers stored centrally in the HiPath communications platform and import their personal Outlook contacts. The multi-directory search func-tion can be used to rapidly find the required contact.

Call control

Using myPortal entry, users can operate their telephones directly from their office PC and accept incoming calls by mouse click. Select the call or voicemail journal directly from the directories per mouse click to avoid misdialing.

Alternatively, the phone numbers can be entered directly or using the redial feature.

Users can dial from their cell phones using the myPortal entry Web Services directories or they can enter the numbers manually. The callback or call-through functions of the HiPath communications system can be applied to lower costs.

Incoming calls are always presented on the cell phone in a consistent manner, regard-less of whether they were received directly or via the callback function of the HiPath system.

Make optimal use of existing

telephone rates

With myPortal entry Web Services, mobile employees can place every call at the best rate via the HiPath communications system using the One Number Service.

One Number Service

From now on, contacts only need a single phone number to reach employees. The One Number Service ensures that employ-ees are always available via the same num-ber and that the numnum-ber stored in the sys-tem is always displayed to the called party for outgoing calls. This function is active, regardless of whether the employee is using the office phone or cell phone.

System administration

The system is administered via the HiPath 3000 Manager C (supplied) or HiPath 3000 Manager E administration tool. This way e.g. stations can be configured, names changed, rights for external traffic assigned or the keys on the phone worksta-tion programmed.

The administration tool runs on Microsoft Windows and can be connected to a system via a V.24, S0 or LAN interface.

To protect the communications system and customer data from unauthorized access, system administration is only possible via individual user IDs.
