Automatic Daily Pickup

A UPS driver will stop at your location each day, Monday through Friday, to pick up all your Ground, Air and International packages. You will also receive Daily Rates, which are the lowest published rates available to UPS customers. Call 1-800-PICK-UPS®for details.

Collect On Delivery (C.O.D.) C.O.D. service is available for packages shipped throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Currency is not accepted for payment. The service charge is $8.50 per package. C.O.D. service is not available when using a UPS 3 Day SelectSMSame-Day Pickup

shipping document or a UPS Ground Same-Day Pickup shipping document. See page 110 for an explanation of UPS 3 Day Select Same-Day Pickup and UPS Ground Same-Day Pickup shipping documents.

UPS C.O.D. AutomaticSMService

A UPS CapitalSMC.O.D. Enhancement

Service that ensures advance funding of UPS C.O.D. remittances and elimi-nates manual check processing tasks via electronic funds transfers directly into your designated bank accounts. Customers are sent daily reports of pay-ments received, net deposits to accounts and total returned items. To qualify for this contractual service, customers must have minimum annual C.O.D. remittances of $30,000.00. Visit upscapital.com or call 1-800-637-0620 for more information.

UPS C.O.D. Secure®

Service A UPS Capital C.O.D. Enhancement Service that provides all the benefits of UPS C.O.D. AutomaticSM, but also

provides protection for returned C.O.D.

Processing Use UPS WorldShipTM, UPS Internet

solution. Simply type in the package and C.O.D. information and the ship-ping system will produce a barcoded address label that contains all C.O.D. information.

Manual C.O.D. Tags

To use a manual C.O.D. tag, type or print an address label and attach it to the top of your package. Complete a UPS C.O.D. tag per the instructions on the tag and specify the exact amount due. Then, attach the C.O.D. tag to the package, covering the address label. Retain the “Shipper Receipt” portion for your records.

A UPS C.O.D. tag must be attached to each package for which a C.O.D. amount is to be collected.

Declared Value for Carriage A package is automatically protected against loss or damage up to $100.00. Additional protection up to $50,000.00 per package is available upon request. Refer to the “Terms and Conditions” for more information. Declared Value charges are listed below:

Hold for Pickup

Hold for Pickup service is available at no additional charge. We’ll deliver the package to a selected UPS Customer Center and telephone the recipient for pickup.

Packages are usually available by 8:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of delivery. When picking up the package, the recipient is required to present a government-issued photo ID. If a customer’s representative is picking up the package, a letter authorizing release of the package or a company ID is required. Packages not picked up within five business days of arrival will be returned.

Hold for Pickup service is not available for Saturday delivery shipments. Call 1-800-PICK-UPS to determine the most convenient UPS Hold for Pickup location.

For each package, prepare a label including the words “Hold for Pickup,” the recipient’s name and telephone number and the full address of the UPS Customer Center. In addition, apply a UPS Hold for Pickup label above the address label on the package. Visit the “Order Supplies” Quick Link on the ups.com®home page or call

1-800-PICK-UPS to order Hold for Pickup labels.

Proof Of Delivery (P.O.D.) Each request for P.O.D. of a shipment via fax or mail is subject to a $3.00 charge, to be assessed to the shipper. Value-added services are available with all UPS domestic service options except UPS SonicAir®and Air Freight Services, unless

otherwise indicated.

Saturday Delivery and Pickup Saturday delivery is available for UPS Next Day Air®Early A.M.®, UPS Next

Day Air®and UPS 2nd Day Air®services.

Saturday delivery is not available for UPS Next Day Air Saver®or UPS 2nd

Day Air A.M.®services.

Saturday delivery of UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. shipments is guaranteed one hour later than the guaranteed week-day delivery time to most destinations. Saturday delivery of UPS Next Day Air shipments is guaranteed an hour and a half later than the guaranteed weekday delivery time to destinations where the weekday guaranteed delivery time is either 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. Saturday delivery of UPS 2nd Day Air shipments is guaranteed by end of day to destinations where UPS Next Day Air is committed by 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. Refer to ups.com®or call

1-800-PICK-UPS®for delivery areas.

Each Express Envelope or package must bear a Saturday Delivery routing label. The charge for this Saturday delivery service is $12.50 per Express Envelope or package. This fee is billed to the payer of the transportation charges. There is no Saturday delivery fee for UPS Next Day Air Hundredweight or UPS 2nd Day Air Hundredweight shipments. If a Saturday pickup is requested, the charge per Express Envelope, package or Hundredweight shipment is $12.50. This service is available for UPS Next Day Air Early A.M., UPS Next Day Air, UPS Next Day Air Saver, UPS 2nd Day Air A.M. and UPS 2nd Day Air. If a Saturday pickup is scheduled, but

nothing is shipped, a $12.50 service charge will be assessed.

UPS Delivery Confirmation, Signature Required and Adult Signature Required (Domestic) Automatic confirmation of delivery for domestic shipments is $1.25 per pack-age. Can be combined with one of the following options:

– Signature Required – $1.00 additional per package

– Adult Signature Required – $2.00 additional per package

Available by using UPS WorldShipTM,

UPS Internet Shipping, UPS CampusShipTM, UPS OnLine®Shipping

Tool or a UPS ReadyTMsolution meeting

the most current specifications set forth in the UPS Guide to Labeling. The ship-per selects “Adult Signature Required” under “Delivery Confirmation,” and a smart label is printed with all necessary information included. The printed delivery confirmations are mailed.

UPS On-Call PickupSM

Schedule a pickup via ups.com/pickup or by calling 1-800-PICK-UPS. This service is available Monday through Friday for all UPS services. Additionally, Saturday pickup is available for all UPS Next Day Air and UPS 2nd Day Air services.

If you request UPS On-Call Pickup for UPS Air Services, Express Envelopes or packages, there may be a per-package

fee (see chart below). There is no charge for international export On-Call Pickup.

If you request UPS On-Call Pickup for UPS 3 Day SelectSMand UPS Ground

packages, there will be an additional fee per package. These fees apply to all UPS customers.

Customers scheduling a pickup for UPS Ground or UPS 3 Day Select pack-ages on ups.com/pickup will first need to generate a UPS Shipping Label using UPS Internet Shipping or another approved UPS shipping system. For exceptions, call 1-800-PICK-UPS. You can request same-day pickup in most parts of the country. Additionally, you can schedule a future-day pickup for the next business day, or later in the week, for all locations in the United States.

Verbal Confirmation of Delivery A charge of $3.00 is assessed per request for Verbal Confirmation of Delivery of a UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. package.

Domestic

To meet a range of reverse logistics needs and simplify the process of collecting customer returns, UPS offers a variety of returns services:

UPS ReturnsSM: You generate a return

label for your customer, or UPS provides your customer with a label via e-mail or mail.

UPS ReturnsSM

Plus: UPS brings the return label to your customer’s pickup location when we pick up the return package.

UPS Authorized Return Service®(ARS):

Contractual service in which UPS pro-vides you with an ample supply of preprinted return labels that you send to your customers. We will preprint the return destination on the return

label according to your specifications. You have the option of including a return label with your outbound ship-ment or distributing the label separately to your customer.

For All Returns Services:

UPS ReturnsSMon the Web: Innovative,

web-enabled, contractual returns service designed to expedite business returns by automating the returns process completely from your website or your customer service center. Labels are transmitted electronically to your customers and can be affixed to the package(s) intended to be returned.

Other returns services available include Print and Mail Return Label, 1 UPS Pickup Attempt and 3 UPS Pickup Attempts. Key features include reduced processing time, full package tracking, improved customer service and hosting by an Application Service Provider (ASP), which means you won’t have to

maintain this service on your server and you’ll have the most up-to-date program.

Visit ups.com or call 1-800-PICK-UPS to determine whether UPS Returns on the Web is the appropriate solution for your business. Available Options $0.50 $1.00 $2.25 $4.00 $5.25 $7.00 – You generate the label and include it in an outbound shipment or distribute separately

to your customer, who then applies the label to the package

– UPS e-mails the label upon your request to your customer, who then prints the label and applies it to the package

– UPS prints the label upon your request and mails it to your customer, who applies the label to the package

– If the package cannot be picked up on the first attempt, we will leave the return label at the pickup location

– If the package cannot be picked up on the first attempt, we will attempt to pick up the package on each of the next two business days. If the package cannot be picked up after the third attempt, the return label will be returned to UPS.

– UPS is replacing Call Tag with an improved service offering – 3 UPS Pickup Attempts (see description above)

– Benefits of using 3 UPS Pickup Attempts include choosing either ground or air services, receiving visibility on your return shipment and incurring transportation charges when the package is delivered

Additional Handling

An Additional Handling charge of $6.00 may be applied to the following: – Any article that is encased in an

out-side shipping container made of metal or wood.

– Any item, such as a barrel, drum, pail or tire, that is not fully encased in a corrugated cardboard shipping container.

– Any package with the longest side exceeding 60 inches or its second-longest side exceeding 30 inches.

An Additional Handling charge will not be assessed to packages qualifying for a Large Package Surcharge.

UPS also reserves the right to assess the charge for any package that, in UPS’s sole discretion, requires special handling.

Address Correction

If UPS is unable to deliver any package as addressed by the shipper or if the package has an incorrect or incomplete address, UPS will determine and make reasonable efforts to secure the correct or complete address. An address vali-dated by UPS may be incorrect or incomplete for purposes of completing delivery, and may be corrected by UPS. If the correct or complete address is secured, UPS will attempt delivery,

the shipper will be provided with the correct address and an Address Correction charge will be assessed: – $10.00 for UPS Next Day Air®Early

A.M.®, UPS Next Day Air®, UPS Next

Day Air Saver®, UPS 2nd Day Air

A.M.®, UPS 2nd Day Air®and UPS

automatically validated within each system. UPS Internet Shipping and UPS CampusShipTMcan automatically

vali-date your address against our street level address database. UPS WorldShip has the ability to validate your addresses against our street level address data-base, but does not automatically do so.

Chargeback for

Consignee Billing Shipments If a shipper ships a package(s) to an unauthorized consignee receiver, the shipper will be assessed a $10.00 fee per package in addition to the Net Transportation Charges.

Delivery Area Surcharge

A Delivery Area Surcharge applies to each Express Envelope and package delivered to certain ZIP Codes. Go to ups.com®or call 1-800-PICK-UPS®

for a listing of applicable ZIP Codes. – $1.30 per Express Envelope or package

delivered to a commercial destination. – $2.10 per Express Envelope or

package delivered to a residential destination.

– $7.50 per UPS Hundredweight Service shipment.

Destination Outside Service Area If delivery of a UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. shipment is requested to a desti-nation outside the Early A.M. service area, UPS reserves the right to assess a billing adjustment fee of $10.00 per shipment.

Excessive Tracking, Tracing and Refund Requests

The shipper may be assessed a $3.00 charge per request for excessive track-ing, tracing and refund requests. See the “Terms and Conditions.”

The following information applies to all levels of UPS domestic service except UPS SonicAir®and Air Freight Services, unless

Hazardous Materials

UPS accepts Hazardous Materials only from customers with UPS Hazardous Materials contracts and Automatic Daily Pickups, and then for transport only within and between all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

From the 48 Contiguous States No domestic contract is required for “Other Regulated Materials” (ORM-D) ground shipments in the 48 contiguous states, some dry ice shipments, materials prepared in accordance with Title 49 C.F.R. 173.4 and Excepted Quantities as defined in International Air Transport Association (IATA) 2.7.

From Alaska and Hawaii

No domestic contract is required for island (Hawaii) and limited intra-Alaska ground ORM-D shipments, some dry ice shipments, materials prepared in accordance with Title 49 C.F.R. 173.4 and Excepted Quantities as defined in International Air Transport Association (IATA) 2.7.

The Hazardous Materials charge per package requiring shipping papers under Title 49 C.F.R. Section 172.200 is $20.00 for UPS Ground shipments and $30.00 for all other domestic services. Refer to the UPS Guide for Shipping Ground and Air Hazardous Materials at ups.com®for carrier

require-ments, restrictions and updates, or call the UPS Hazardous Materials Support Center at 1-800-554-9964 for details.

Large Package Surcharge A package is considered a “Large Package” when its length plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 130 inches, but does not exceed the maximum UPS size of 165 inches.

Large Packages shipped using UPS Ground are subject to a minimum bill-able weight of 90 pounds. Large Pack-ages shipped using UPS Air Services or UPS 3 Day SelectSMare subject to

a minimum billable rate of $90.00.

A Large Package Surcharge of $40.00 will apply. An Additional Handling Charge will not be assessed when a Large Package Surcharge is applied. The minimum billable rate will not apply to UPS Hundredweight Service®

shipments.

Missing/Invalid Account Number or Refusal Fee

An account number is invalid if it is not the correct account number for the bill-to party, or if it is the account number for a consignee or third party who fails to pay the shipping charges: – A $10.00 charge per package will be

assessed for shipments with a missing or invalid account number. Additionally, if the consignee or third party fails to pay the shipping charges, the original shipper will be billed the shipping charges.

Over Maximum Limits

Packages with an actual weight of more than 150 pounds, or that exceed 108 inches in length, or exceed a total of 165 inches in length and girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined, as measured to determine their billable weight, are not accepted for transpor-tation. If found in the UPS system, they are subject to one of the following additional charges:

– Over Maximum Weight: $50.00 – Over Maximum Length: $50.00 – Over Maximum Size: $50.00

Pickup of Returns Services Shipments A Pickup charge of $10.00 will be assessed when a pickup is requested for a UPS 3 Day Select or a UPS Ground Returns Services package when no other packages are shipped.

Residential Surcharge

A residential delivery is defined as delivery to a location that is a home,

including a business operating out of a home that does not have an entrance open to the public. Add $2.10 to the appropriate rate for each Express Envelope or package going to a domes-tic residential destination (except UPS Ground packages). Add $20.00 to the appropriate rate for each UPS Hundredweight Service shipment going to a domestic residential destination.

Undeliverable Package Return Charge

Domestic packages refused by the consignee, or which cannot be delivered due to any other cause beyond UPS’s control, will be returned to the shipper at the shipper’s expense.

From the 48 Contiguous States Undeliverable packages shipped via UPS Air Services and UPS 3 Day Select will be subject to an Undeliverable Package Return Charge based on the applicable UPS 3 Day Select commer-cial rate. Undeliverable packages originally shipped via UPS Ground will be subject to an Undeliverable Package Return Charge based on the applicable UPS Ground commercial rate.

From Alaska and Hawaii

Undeliverable packages shipped via UPS Air Services to the 48 contiguous states will be subject to an Undeliver-able Package Return Charge based on the applicable UPS Ground commercial rate. Undeliverable packages shipped via UPS Next Day Air within Alaska or within Hawaii will be subject to an Undeliverable Package Return Charge based on the applicable UPS Next Day Air®commercial rate. Undeliverable

packages shipped via UPS Ground will be subject to an Undeliverable Package Return Charge based on the applicable UPS Ground commercial rate.
