How to Set Up Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 for Hosted Microsoft Exchange if the Program
is Already Installed
1. If you received your copy of Outlook from Cbeyond (via a CD or by downloading it from
CbeyondOnline) proceed to step two.
If your copy of Outlook is not from Cbeyond first install the Cbeyond Free/Busy (Autodiscover)
patch found here.
2. Navigate to the Control Panel and double click on the Mail icon.
a. Windows XP, Vista, and 7 users can click on Start and then click on Control Panel to find
the Control Panel.
i. Windows Vista 64 bit users will need to click on 32-bit Applications to find the
Mail icon.
ii. In Windows 7 64 bit operating system the Mail icon is labeled “Mail (32-bit)”
3. Click on Add to add a new Profile.
Name your new profile and click on OK

4. Enter your name, e-mail address, and password. Click Next.
5. Outlook will then attempt to automatically configure itself.
6. Once this is finished, click on Finish. If you had more than one profile you will need to return to
the Control Panel and click on Mail to have Outlook use the newly created profile.
If Automatic Setup Fails or you’d like to configure Outlook Manually
1. If you received your copy of Outlook from Cbeyond (via a CD or by downloading it from

2. Navigate to the Control Panel and double click on the Mail icon.

the Control Panel.

i. Windows Vista 64 bit users will need to click on 32-bit Applications to find the
Mail icon.
3. Click on Add to add a new Profile.
Name your new profile and click on OK
4. Choose the Manually Configure Server settings or additional server types option.

5. Choose the Microsoft Exchange or compatible service option. Click the Next button.
6. Enter the Exchange server name EXCAS101 .MMEPROD.CBEYOND in the field
provided. Confirm the Use Cached Exchange Mode checkbox is selected, and enter your full
email address in the field provided. Click the More Settings button.
a. You may be presented with an error. This is normal. Click the OK button on the error
message. Another window will be presented similar to what is below, click on OK you will

be able to proceed to the next step.
7. Click the Connection tab, and select Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP. Click
the Exchange Proxy Settings button.
8. From the Exchange Proxy Settings screen, enter the proxy server information as shown below.
Enter WEBMAIL.CBEYONDONLINE.NET in the top field. Check both options, On fast
networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP and On slow networks,
connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP. (The latter option should be enabled by
default.) In the Proxy authentication settings section, select Basic Authentication from the
drop-down list. Click the OK button.

9. This will take you back to the Connection tab. Click on OK to return to the Add New Account
screen.
10. Click Check Name to be presented with an authentication window. Enter the full email address
for the username, and the user's password in the provided fields. If all information is input
correctly and the user's mailbox is provisioned properly, it should bold and underline both the
Microsoft Exchange Server information and the User Name information. This implies the server
has been contacted and the user information is confirmed. These settings are only compatible
with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010.
