You are in the second-oldest house in town.

Alvin H. Moore had this humble house built, cir- ca 1864. Descendant of a pioneer family, Moore became the first mayor of Magog. Teacher, entrepreneur, federal MP, industrial developer, he is, without question, one of the builders of our region.

Today, Alvin’s house is your home. Each and every day, for the past 20 years, we strive to put everything in place to please you. Here, on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, just simply enjoy yourself. Even though its last sighting was nearly twenty years ago, the mythical monster that dwells in the lake is still in the hearts of the locals.

Hidden deep in the underwater caves of lake Memphremagog, the creature is said to resemble a large sea serpent. For gener- ations, it was said that the Abenaki living on the shores dared not swim in its waters for fear of being eaten alive.

Every year, observers witness abnormal wave patterns that create undulating movements that evoke a large travelling sea serpent.

Who knows, maybe you will be the next person on this prestigious list? This all depends on what you’ve had to drink!
