PRACTICAL INFORMATION AND FRAME PROGRAM

Turkey is one of the fastest growing economies in the OECD area and is now the 17th largest economy in the world. Turkey joined NATO in 1952 and is also a member of G-20.

Turkey and Norway share a very good relationship which today is stronger than ever. The bilateral trade has tripled in the last 10 years and is now nearly 10 billion NOK. Turkey is a favourite tourist destination for Norwegians with more than 400.000 visiting in 2012.

With 75 million inhabitants and a very young population, Turkey is expected to rise to become the highest populated country in Europe in the coming years.

Through the years, Innovation Norway´s office in Istanbul has created an excellent business network in Turkey. For a long time, they have concentrated their work on the maritime, energy and seafood-sector representing the bulk of the Turkish-Norwegian business cooperation.

Please note

The participation fee is NOK 7.500 for members of the business delegation. An invoice will be issued after the registration deadline. Each participant has to arrange and pay for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

The participation fee covers among others all official meals, rent of seminar facilities, organized transportation as well as cost for two guests at the gala dinner in Istanbul 6.November.

Flights to Turkey

In our experience delegation members frequently wish to add individual meetings before and after the official programme. For this reason no joint travel arrangements will be made. HRG travel agency in Oslo has a special agreement with Turkish Airlines for this project. In addition, most major European airlines have flights to Turkey.

Visit Visa:

It is now possible for Norwegians to apply for entry visa online and pay the fee online. You just visit the website of e-Visa fill in the necessary personal and passport information. You pay the fee of 20 USD with your debit or credit card (Visa and MasterCard only). Within a few minutes registration will be ready and visas granted. Print out your visa on plain paper, bring this with you on your trip, and show this to the passport control in Turkey. The Norwegian Embassy recommends that you download the electronic visa and save this on your computer/mobile/tablet in case you should lose your printout. For those without an E-visa, it is possible to purchase a visa upon arrival in Ankara/Istanbul.

Hotel Accommodation:

We have made preliminary and optional group bookings at:

 Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Centre in Ankara www.sheraton.ankara.com.tr Separate accommodation form attached.

Please return this form to the fax number: +90 312 467 21 75 or by mail to Iraz Arnaz : [email protected]

 Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel in Istanbul.

The latter may be booked at the special web-site for the business delegation:

https://secure.kempinski.com/KIIST/en/book/id.INNO131106/start.20131105/end.20131109

Ciragan Kempinski is a luxury hotel. Even if we have managed to get a price discount for the business delegation during the State visit, we would like to point out that there are good and more reasonably priced hotels nearby.

You should however take into consideration the local traffic in Istanbul when you chose hotels outside the Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel.

If you want an alternative to the Ciragan Palace hotel, we can suggest:  Ortaköy Princess Hotel www.ortakoyprincess.com and

(3)

Page | 3 We do not have a group-booking on these two hotels, but use the hotels website or booking.com

Please return this form to the fax number: +90 216 625 0101 Or mail to Boray Kose / [email protected]

Hotel Accommodation in Istanbul from 6th November and onwards should be booked as soon as possible by each participant.

Please book as soon as possible to obtain the best prices. Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel in particular has a limited number of rooms available at discounted prices.

We would also inform you that our block reservations are only valid until 6th October both for Sheraton Ankara, Divan Istanbul Asia and Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel.
