Fiscal and planning responsibility for the instructional and student support services programs comprising San Diego Continuing Education. Provide administrative oversight of the instmctional program inclusive of all CTE, Older Adult, Parent Education, ESL, Business Information & Technology, Hospitality & Culinary Studies, DSPS, and ABE/ASE programs. Jointly administer the Adult Education High School Diploma Program in conjunction with the San Diego Unified School District. Jointly administer the Apprenticeship Program in conjunction San Diego City College and local trade associations. Administer the Community Education and Contract Education (Employee Training Institute) programs for the district. Administer all professional development activities and program review for the institution.
Provide administrative oversight of student suppmt services inclusive of general and DSPS counseling, student success and support program activities, and job search and outreach services including the CalWORKS Program, the Veterans Program, and the New Horizons Program. Oversee the 504 Officer and student discipline process. Serve as the Student Grievance Officer, Student Discipline Hearing Officer, and the Title IX Coordinator. Continue to serve as the WASC Accreditation Liaison Officer for San Diego Continuing Education.

a. Enrollment Management
Develop annual enrollment management plan for all instructional programs and revise plan as necessary based on budgetary concerns and programming priorities.
b. Employee Relations and Personnel Management

with the president, recommend to the Board of Trustees faculty, counselors, classified staff, and administrators for employment. Oversee the evaluation process of all deans, full-time faculty and counseling staff, and faculty under tenure review. Currently serve as a member of the district negotiating team.
c. Participatory Governance
Currently serve on several of the patticipatory governance committees comprising San Diego Continuing Education. Facilitated the development of the initial committee architecture and facilitate modifications to the architecture.
d. Facilities Planning and Operations
Serve as member of San Diego Continuing Education facilities planning group for all new and retrofitted construction projects inclusive of the construction of four new campuses and the retro-fitting of two existing campuses. Primary areas of concern include the instructional programming of these facilities and space utilization. Oversee seven primary campuses in San Diego metro area and over 200 off-site locations.
e. Community Involvement
Liaison with the following community and business organizations:
• San Diego Regional Chamber: Serve on the Education and Workforce
Development Sub-Committee.
• The San Diego District Attorney's Office and the Reentry Roundtable: Serve
as a member of this committee which works to facilitate the return of state inmates to their communities of origin.
• San Diego Housing Corporation: Liaison with this CBO to ensure clients
are able to secure ESL classes in the City Heights area.
• The Black Contractor's Association: This partnership with CE is designed to
provide educational support for this local CBO.
• The Southeast San Diego Neighborhood Coalition/Tubman-Chavez Center:
This pattnership is intended to provide high school and GED classes at the
center.
• Environmental Clean Air Act Coalition: Serve as a member to support the
clean ports environmental movement in San Diego.
• National Steel and Ship Building (NASSCO): Largest ship builder on west
coast. This partnership has included providing training in marine welding to NASSCO employees through the CE welding program.
• San Diego Second Chance Program: This pattnership has included the
pursuit of grant funding and offering classes at the Second Chance Center.
• Barrio Logan Association: Member of this association which is involved in

• Accuplacer Prep Course: Facilitated the development of a non-credit
preparation course for the Accuplacer Test which is used for placement in the English and math course sequences in the district. Liaison with local feeder high schools to offer Accuplacer Prep courses at high school campuses.

a. Curriculum
• Student Learning Outcomes: Initiated student learning outcomes at the course
level which resulted in the establishment of course level SLOs for 90 percent of all active courses.
• Academic Policy: Developed and implemented within a shared governance
structure policy language regarding catalog rights, upper and lower division transfer coursework, academic freedom, student privacy, and student right- to-know.
• Honors Program: Increased the enrollment in the honors program to
approximately 600 active students and over 1000 alumni. Generated additional transfer agreements beyond those in place when assigned the program with Mills College, St. Mary's College, University of California, Los Angeles and University of California, Riverside.
b. Data Management
• Implementation of Curriculum and Academic Planning Program (CAPP)
in BANNER: Oversaw development and implementation of degree audit
system. Major challenges included developing the database required to execute degree compliance reports in the Banner information management system, coordinating the efforts of several campus entities inclusive of the ITS department, the Office of Matriculation, and the Office of Admissions and Records and generating counselors and other user group support.
• Conducted Audit of all CCSF degree and Certificate Programs: Oversaw the
audit of all degree and cettificate programs offered by City College to ensure full compliance with all applicable Title 5 regulations. Primary challenges included gaining the cooperation of department chairs with degree and/or certificate programs that were not in compliance and serving as a liaison between the college and the California State Chancellor's Office.
• Created web site for Office of Instruction/Tenure Review: This web site
provides the college community access to faculty evaluation/tenure review materials, 3500 archived course outlines, curriculum development materials, and sabbatical information.
c. Publications
• Faculty Orientation DVD: Produced a one-hour video showcasing all CCSF
campuses and key personnel at each campus. While several departments at the college use this video, the intended purpose is to provide newly hired faculty an overview of the college.
• College Catalog: Received an award from the National Council for
Marketing and Public Relations a second award from the Community
College Public Relations Organization for the 2003-04 College Catalog.
