Ricky L. Grant (35 Years of Service) Division: Facilities Management

Position: Painter

- Hired: February 20, 1978

- Ricky began his career with the Polk County Board of County Commissioners 35 years ago tomorrow, on February 20, 1978. He is a Painter in the Facilities Management Division.

- At some point, Ricky has probably painted some walls for everyone who works for the County. Given all of the interior work he performed, Ricky more than likely painted the equivalent of the entire Administration Building and Courthouse more than 20 times! Can you imagine how many times Ricky has painted and

repainted the same wall in his 35 years?

- When it comes to the exterior of County buildings, Ricky has painted the old Polk General Hospital, the Lawrence W. Crow Building, and the County Administration Building. If you could equate the amount of painting Ricky has done to mileage, it would probably stretch from here to New York City and back.

- Ricky is retiring from the County this summer. He will not be an easy person to replace. So, let’s take this opportunity to thank him for his 35 years of service to the Polk County Board of County Commissioners!
