Marriage Preparation:

Please contact Pastor six months prior to wedding to ensure adequate time for these preparations.

Baptism for Children Age 3 Months through Age 6 If your child was not baptized as a newborn infant, you are encouraged to bring him or her for baptism on one of our regularly scheduled baptism dates. Remaining scheduled baptisms for 2016 will be celebrated on November 12th & 13th. Readiness to have your child baptized involves registering at the parish, attending mass faithfully for at least four months, and participating in baptism preparation classes. Registration for the classes and attendance at two sessions by parents and godparents is required. To make arrangements for baptism, please call Norma at 541-747-7041. Class Preparation information on page 2.

Bible Basics

Bible Basics, led by Fr. Mark Bentz, is open to all parishioners as well as those who are coming to explore the faith and prepare to become Catholic. Come learn more about the Catholic faith and grow spiritually through prayer, study, and discussion. Classes are held on Thursdays @ 6:45pm - 8:30pm. BIBLE BASICS with Fr. Mark Bentz

Is the Old Testament a mystery to you? Have you felt ill-prepared to answer questions people have about the Catholic faith? Have you ever

The morning Rosary will be prayed twice weekly: 8:00am Wednesdays and 8:00am Thursdays, in the Chapel.

In support of your Domestic Church, the religious education classes for children from kindergarten -

5th grade, and for adults will begin October 2nd

These classes are scheduled to coincide with each other

Pre-registration in now open for the 2016-2017 program. Registration forms are available in the vestibule, the office and on the church web page

www.stalice.org. Registration fees per child are

$20.00 with an additional $5.00 per family for a Prayer & Practices book. After October 1st

registration fees will increase to $25.00 per child.

Prayer - Study - Preaching - Community

The KoC will be doing their annual Octoberfest on the weekend of the 15th/16th. There will be a meal / celebration after each service including Saturday and Sunday in the community center. There will be pre-sales of tickets after service starting the 1st of October. Orders will as be taken to buy the infamous German sausage by the pound. Profits from the sales are used towards helping events, projects, groups, and individuals at St Alice. So please support the Knights and their mission.

"40 Days for Life" We are praying for an end to abortion outside the Planned Parenthood facility at 3579 Franklin Blvd., Eugene (Glenwood area) from September 28th to November 6th. Talking with God: Lessons about Prayer

Are you seeking to realize the full potential of your relationship with God? Do you desire a method of Prayer that is uniquely suited to your life?

There will be a 12-week class offered on Wednesday nights starting October 5, 2016 from 7-8:30pm.

This study on prayer is presented by The Apostleship of Prayer’s Father James Kubicki, SJ. M.Div.

It is a study on various topics regarding prayer including; What is Prayer, the Prayer of Jesus, the Our Father, Listening in prayer, The Eucharist, our greatest prayer, etc. The study classes will be held in the Ed. Center beginning with prayer in the chapel.

These classes will be hosted by Frank Wikle. Please watch for a signup sheet in the back of the church.

We are asking for a one time donation of $10.00 per person to help cover the cost of the material.

The Christian in the World Fall 2016 Lecture

Series, "Looking at the Year of Mercy," continues on October 8, 2016, at 8:45 a.m. in the Mount Angel Abbey Library with Father Tim Mockaitis, pastor of Queen of Peace Parish in Salem, speaking on "Pope Francis and Divine Mercy: The Man and His Message." Father Tim holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Mount Angel Seminary and a Master of Science (MS) in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in Baltimore. Father will explore the theme of mercy as Pope Francis develops it, especially in his Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, The Joy of the Gospel. He will give the group time to reflect on two Gospel parables, The Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan. The cost is $15; students $5.
