(6)

How do I find my appropriate level?

If you already have some German knowledge, taking a placement test will make sure that you are allocated the appropriate class. The placement test can be found on our website or you can request one by contacting us directly.

What can I do if I feel that I am not in the right class?

If you feel you are not in the right class, please talk to your teacher or a staff member of the Language Department immediately.

How do I proceed to the next level?

Unless you wish to repeat a level you proceed to the next level once you have completed a course at the Goethe-Institut.

What is the workload involved after class?

Generally, the teacher assigns homework after each class. In addition to this, you will achieve better results if you revise the vocabulary and grammar structures learnt in class. This should take approximately 30–60 minutes a week.

Are the course materials provided by the Goethe-Institut?

The course fee does not include the course books. Unless otherwise specified, you need to purchase the course book/s. They are available at the start of the term from our Reception at a discounted price. For a list of local bookshops that stock language learning books and resources, please contact us.

How can I catch up on any missed classes?

Material covered in class, as well as homework are available in the online classbook. You can also talk to your teacher about catching up.

Do I get a certificate of attendance?

Regular class attendance is necessary to ensure a satisfactory learning outcome. If you have completed 70% of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance upon request.
