WORLD CUP SOCCER

Campers will arrive to a vibrant soccer camp atmosphere with friendly professional coaches that will assign each player into a designated World Cup country for the week. Each day, players will learn soccer skills from around the world and put them to the test in fun challenges and games. Countries will face off against each other in daily soccer scrimmages where the emphasis is on the excite-ment of playing soccer. This camp is ideal for children that play at the recreational level or travel players that are look-ing for some soccer fun and instruction at the same time. Our professional staff will not only coach the fundamentals of soccer but will teach campers the valuable lesson of teamwork.

GROUP TENNIS LESSONS

Group tennis lessons taught by Joe Kotulka will be held at Kulp Memorial Playground tennis courts every Tuesday and Wednesday beginning June 26th through July 20th. Register at the Perkasie Borough Office by June 17th.

GENERAL INFORMATION

To register or obtain additional information on any of the activities listed in this booklet, contact the Perkasie Borough Office. Pre-registration must be done in person or by mail, with payment accompanying the registration. The Borough reserves the right to cancel or change any programs, events or costs. Also, a $15.00 charge will be required for all returned checks. All checks should be made payable to Perkasie Borough.

MINI MULTI SPORTS CAMP

Experience over 15 different sports from around the world. All activities will take place in an atmosphere which promotes good sportsmanship, teamwork and, most of all, fun. Campers will receive technical instruction in each sport, then experience the sport in a realistic game situation. Campers will receive a T-shirt and certificate. This is the only summer camp dedicated to the sports minded youngster.

SPORT SQUIRTS

The Sports Squirts program has been designed to introduce young children to a variety of sports in a safe, structured environment. All games and activities will encompass hand/eye coordination, balance, agility and movement - all key factors to the early development of children in sport. In addition to having a great time playing the different sports, children develop social interaction and communication skills. All sports are developed through a series of games and activities designed to ensure learning and, most importantly, FUN!

ECO ARTIST CAMP

Do you love art? Do you love being in nature? This camp combines the best of both worlds in a unique fashion. Using materials you fin in nature, you will create art projects each day that celebrate the beauty of the natural world and showcase your artistic creativity. Regardless of abilities campers will grow as an artist and see the world in a brand new light. Activities include painting with various materials, pressed flowers & leaves, sand art and sculpting. Bring a water bottle and healthy snack, wear comfortable shoes and dress for the outdoors. Each camper will receive a t-shirt and certificate.

GEOCACHING ADVENTURE CAMP

Geo-what?! Geocaching is one of the fastest growing outdoor activities. It is a hi-tech scavenger hunt that utilizes a handheld GPS unit, a good set of eyes and a bit of hiking around. Experienced staff will guide you during this active camp as you learn how to use a GPS unit for geocaching, explore the outdoors as you search for hidden caches and create and design your own geocaching course. Each day will end with a fun team game. All equipment will be supplied, including the GPS unit. Bring a water bottle and healthy snack each day, wear comfortable shoes and dress for the outdoors. Each camper will receive a t-shirt and certificate.

CREATIVE THEATRE

Students will learn stagecraft while creating their own play. This production will be guided by the ideas of the students; characters, plot and setting are all based on their ideas. The disciplines of the actor are first introduced through the-atre games. Movement, voice, theater terms and listening are practiced on day one and built on as the play is devel-oped. The week culminates in a performance for friends and family on Friday. Everyone should bring a drink and lunch.

SUPERHERO CAMP

Join forces with Spirit Unlimited to expand each child’s im-agination and help them become the ultimate superhero. Each superhero will have the opportunity to pick out a superhero costume of the day, make crafts that help them fight the battle against evil, and find out their true identity. The curriculum includes the six pillars of character, costumes for each day (cleaned daily), trained and experienced staff instructors, arts, crafts, and games during break times, ribbons and award along with sports activities for each day of camp!

CREATE YOUR OWN VIDEO GAMES

Campers will have fun and success as they creatively de-sign, build and edit their very own video games from scratch. Design the action and the characters. Campers will feel a sense of power as they control the characters.

CARTOON ADVENTURES

Find yourself inside a cartoon and then the fun begins! You will choose between hundreds of images and create a cartoon strip with backgrounds, speech bubbles, wacky toons and special effects. You will even be able to record sounds and words to make your cartoon come alive.

MOVIE MAKING

Campers will be making their own movie. They will pick on the story, direct, do the filming, edit, and maybe even star in the movie. Best of all, they will add amazing special effects. Each camper will be able to take home their movie on CD.

RAZZLE DAZZLE ROBOTICS

Campers will build robots with sensors that control the action on the computer screen. Build a robot puppet that makes an animal dance on the screen. Build a magic want that makes

BALLROOM DANCE with BRENDA JO

If you have always wanted to learn how to ballroom dance but never knew where to start, this is the right place for you. Ballroom dance is a great shared hobby between couples, as it provides fun, mental and physical stimulation and exercise. Ballroom dance also helps with the coordination and an appreciation for art, movement and music. The skill involved is as challenging and fasci-nating as other performing art and sport forms. It offers great social opportunities for couples and singles for all ages. Come and enjoy 60 minutes of fun, grace and elegance of ballroom dancing. STARDUST CERAMICS for KIDS and FAMILY

Creating art is a wonderful, fun activity for all ages. Let Stardust Ceramics & Pottery bring out the inner artist in your child. Ages 5 and up will have fun exploring different ceramics art forms each day. Let us give tips and techniques to help your artist make the most of their talents. We will be hand building with clay, making wearable art and learning different glazing and painting techniques with ceramics. Each day will be filled with fun and creativity. Supplies are included. A paint your own pottery & ceramic experience for adults. Painting ceramics is a wonderful tool to relieve stress from our daily lives. Enjoy a summer evening weeklong experience of creating, having fun and relaxing while learning the different methods of glazing and painting with Stardust Ceramics and Pottery. Let us help you tap into your inner artist while having fun outdoors at the park. A different technique every night!

FITNESS THAT FITS BOOT CAMP

Perkasie Borough Parks and Recreation and Fitness That Fits, LLC have collaborated for this new and exciting exer-cise program for ages 13 & up! You can expect to do a little bit of everything! Walking, light jogging, stability training, strength training, core conditioning, flexibility training, and teamwork challenges are all incorporated. We design your Boot Camp to your specifications, while keeping it challenging, motivating, and rewarding throughout. This Boot Camp will be held in Menlo Park located on the corner of South Fifth St. and Park Avenue across from the Menlo Aquatic Center. All participants should bring their own exer-cise mat, water bottle and wear comfortable sneakers to each work out. As with any exercise program, please con-sult with your physician before starting. All classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 8 weeks totally 16 classes. In addition, classes can be interchangeable.

SECRET AGENT LAB!

Become a Mad Science - Secret Agent and make a fasci-nating journey into the world of spies, detection, and clas-sified information. Learn a code language to send secret messages to other agents. Undercover and decode mes-sages from other agents using your top secret clearance. Join the Mad Science Bureau of Investigation and gain skills for the job. Take home projects include a detective kit, secret decoder, fingerprint kit and much more!

SPACE: INFINITY & BEYOND!

Students Explore the mysteries of the solar system and the science behind air & space travel. Children discover how astronauts get into space and how they live and work once they get there. We will investigate unique flying ma-chines, including building balloon copters, boomerangs and a mini hovercraft as take home projects. Students will about aerodynamics by building their own model rocket. Once rockets are completed, children will have a blast off on a space mission. This camp is out of this world!!!

MAD MACHINES & JR. ENGINEERS!

Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! The Mad Science engineers will design and build bridges, skyscrapers and even construct a Geodesic Dome big enough for all the campers to sit inside! Then the machine madness starts. This journey will include many different machines, simple & complex, we use in our daily lives. Campers will build their own Catapults, Sonic Race Car and much more to take home from this awesome camp!

SUPER SLIMY SMOKEY SCIENCE!

Join us for a fun-filled week of science experiments and cool projects. Topics include Slimy Science & Smokey Ice, Lasers & Optics, Secret Agent Lab, Shocking Science! Children will experience making ooey, gooey slime and Mad Science Putty. They will take part in an indoor fire-works demonstration while learning about light and color. All students will investigate how chemistry provides evi-dence at the scene of a crime as well a build their own

electromagnet. Come get SLIMED.

JUNIOR PHYSICIAN ACADEMY

Take an incredible journey in the worlds most sophisticated system - The Human Body! Explore the science behind cells, organs, muscles and bones through hands-on activities. YOUTH NCAA FOOTBALL PS3 TOURNAMENT

Upon registering for the tournament the registrar must draw a college football team (i.e. Penn State, Oklahoma and etc.) randomly from a envelope. The team they draw will be there permanent team throughout the tournament which will take place over a 5-day period from the dates and times listed below. All participants will not be required to attend every game, only those who are scheduled to play on a given date and time need attend over the 5-day tournament. The tournament is single elimination. The winner of the tournament will receive a small trophy/plaque, a press release to local newspapers declaring themselves as Perkasie Borough’s 1st ever champion of the NCAA College Football tournament, a college football prize/ memorabilia from a team of your choosing and more!
