The

Wisconsin Workers’ Compensation Forum

is an educational seminar structured to allow the exchange of ideas among

professionals working in the worker’s compensation industry. Participants include attorneys, insurance brokers, claims

examiners, medical/vocational case managers, occupational health nurses, physicians, and employer representatives. The

Industry Networking Social Hour will follow the seminar.

Hotel Information:

Hotel rooms are available at a special rate of $99.00 per night. Please call the Country Springs Hotel at 262-547-0201 for

reservations before September 13

Driving Directions:

The Country Springs Hotel is located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin just 20 miles from Milwaukee and 60 miles from Madison. It is

easily accessed from Interstate 94. The address is 2810 Golf Road. Parking is Free. Exit I-94 at Hwy. G (Exit 291). Go north on

Hwy. G to Golf Road, then right on Golf Road about 1/4 mile to the Country Springs Hotel.

Facts and Myths about Musculoskeletal Disorders: State of the Art Evidence Provides Some Answers

Dr. Kurt Hegmann, MD, MPH, FACP, FACOEM–Professor and Director of the University of Utah’s Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health

Attorney Robert Zilske - Moderator

Dr. Hegmann is currently completing one of the largest studies ever commissioned by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Causes and treatments of carpal tunnel syndrome will be used to provide an example of advancing knowledge. Data from this large prospective cohort NIOSH study he has been performing will be provided to illustrate causal factors. Synthesized evidence from over 300 quality studies of related treatments reinforces some beliefs as facts, while exposing others as urban myths.
