Although, most major assignments are listed on the class schedule it is the students responsibility to verify the due dates
for all assignments by reviewing each course syllabus. Although rare, course chairs reserve the right to change assignment
dues dates as needed.
FORMAT FOR WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS
All written assignments need to adhere to the following guidelines. Assignments submitted that do not meet these requirements may be returned without being read or graded. Check individual syllabi for specifics or modifications of these instructions.
General Formatting:
Use only 8 ½ x 11 inch white paper. Submit original copies. However, keep a copy of each assignment for your records. Assignments must be typed, double spaced (including the reference page).
Provide 1 inch margins on sides, top and bottom.
Use 12 pt Times New Roman or Arial fonts. Do not use condensed fonts. Number pages on top right of page, except title page.
Submit assignments in 3-hole punched covers. Do not use 3-ring binders or plastic covers with sliding plastic binders. APA Format: Follow APA guidelines when adding citations and making a reference page.
Title Page: All written assignments require a title page using the following format:
Format Example
Report Cover: The front of the cover must have a label formatted with the same information as the title page. Clear covers are acceptable and do not require a label on the front cover.
Where to Submit Assignments: Submit Case Conference assignments directly to the instructor. Follow directions in the Syllabus for other courses; generally the assignment is handed directly to the instructor in class. Submit both hard copy and electronic versions of every written assignment. Email papers to the Course Chair as an attached Microsoft Word document that includes your email address. Both versions must be received by your instructor before any assignments will be given a grade. Consult the front page of each Syllabus for the Chair’s email address. Return of Papers: Faculty take approximately 2 – 3 weeks to grade papers. Papers will be distributed to students in class or students may pick up papers in their mailboxes.
