Mission
To support the Digital Agenda for Europe by achieving a lasting transformation in the quantity, scope and usability of the data available to Europeana from European cultural institutions.
What is Europeana?
• An internet portal that acts as an interface to millions of books, paintings, films, museum objects and archival records that have been digitised throughout Europe
• A platform for knowledge exchange that promotes collaboration between librarians, curators, archivists and the creative industries
• Europeana API provides access to the Europeana collections for reuse by creative industries, research and education

Vision
The Europeana Inside outputs, and particularly the Europeana Connection Kit, will be adopted by every Collections Management software supplier and their museum, library and archive clients throughout Europe to transform the quantity, scope and accessibility of digital cultural heritage for the public.
