Location

Higher Watchcombe Farm occupies a delightful position overlooking the Umborne Valley which is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Property

The holiday cottage complex comprises a Grade II Listed 6 bedroom 16th Century farmhouse with flexible accommodation to create a self-contained holiday letting unit or annexe at the western end, together with five holiday letting cottages all overlooking the Umborne Valley.

The farmhouse at Higher Watchcombe is of traditional construction under a pitched slate roof, and maintains many attractive period features including an inglenook fireplace with bread oven and beamed ceilings.

The holiday letting cottages have been converted from a range of traditional stone barns and are also of traditional construction under pitched slate roofs.

The gardens that surround the holiday cottages are mainly laid to lawn and are well planted with a variety of mature plants and shrubs.

At the top of the property next to the greenhouse is an orchard with a variety of cooking and eating apples.

Directions

From Honiton, take the A35 towards Axminster.

After 2 miles, you will enter the village of Willmington, turn right signed to Widworthy Church ¾ mile next to the Home Farm Hotel and follow the road for ¾ mile up the hill to the end.

At the T junction turn left signed Colyton and Umborne at New Road Cross and continue on this road for 1½ miles. The road forks at Homebush Cross turn left signed to Umborne.

Continue on this road for ¾ mile and the property can be found on the left hand side clearly signed.
