Prayer is an essential part of the Christian life, just as conversation is an essential part of any meaningful relationship. And what relationship could possibly be more important than our relationship with God?
The following “prayer station” can be used by both individuals as well as families. It is intentionally simple so as to provide a springboard for further conversation with God, the heart of that form of prayer known as meditation. We take a few mo-ments to recognize that we are in the presence of God. We invoke His blessing. God speaks, and we listen, reflecting upon what He has said. We make practical application of His word to our daily life and resolve to be obedient to His perfect and holy will, and grow in this obedience daily.
For each station, begin by making the sign of the cross. Read the scripture verse; it is God’s word spoken to you. Reflect upon the verse, using the questions as useful. In light of your reflection, make a practical resolution for your life, and offer it to God in the context of praying the Lord’s Prayer. The
doxology “Glory Be to the Father” sends us forward, to press on as a Christian in this world, a living sac-rifice of praise.

“He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter said in reply, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God’” (Matthew 16:15-16).
Do I concur with Simon Peter, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God? What difference, then, should this make in my life? How
might it actually affect my prayer, fasting, and almsgiving during this holy season? ✠ Our Father…
✠ Glory be to the Father…

✠ In the name of the Father…
“This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.” (Matthew 6:9-13).
Do I pray as Jesus taught, remembering to praise and thank God, to ask for forgiveness as needed, and to place my daily needs be-fore him? What things might I do to improve my conversation with the Lord each day, and to give it increase?

“My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit; a heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not re-ject” (Psalm 51:19).
In a world seemingly filled with human arro-gance and obstinance, how willing am I—all too aware of my own sinfulness—to em-brace humility before God and my neighbor, and to show compassion towards my fellow sinners?

✠ In the name of the Father…
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
Do I really believe this, truly? What, then, do I need to ask for? What ought I to seek? Up-on what door (or doors) ought I to be
knocking?

“Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I tell you this, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the
scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven’” (Matthew 5:20).
The scribes and Pharisees were experts in the Law but poor in love. Why is it not enough to simply keep the commandments and then be done with it all? What else is needed? How might this apply to my Friday abstinence today?

✠ Glory be to the Father…

✠ In the name of the Father…
“But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).
Why is loving my enemy so important to Je-sus as he preaches about the Kingdom of God? In what concrete ways might I do bet-ter at loving those at odds with me?
✠ Our Father…

Ladies Scripture Study will restart last year's "No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion". This 5-week study, perfect for Lent, will start on March 2. This will be held in the church on Tuesdays starting at 9:45 and ending by 11:30 with Dr. Sri's video, filmed in the Holy Land.
In No Greater Love, we will walk
step-by-step with Jesus on his journey from his agony in the garden to his crucifixion on Calvary. Along the way, Dr. Sri will unpack the biblical back-ground to these events, the prophecies, and most especially, the ways Jesus is inviting us to walk more closely with him today.
This program involves group discussion of
homework questions and watching a summary video afterward. To register and get study ma-terials (if needed), please contact Judy Weeks at 913 385-089 or
bible.study.holy.spirit@gmail.com.
God’s plan to save the world at this moment in history is through Consecration to Mary; It is not by coincidence that the Pope dedicated this year to St. Joseph – the first time ever; And we all have a Guardian Angel at our service, whose help we waste. The help of all three will be nec-essary in 2021! Dr. Mike Scherschligt will show you how to take the greatest advantage of the help of Mary, Joseph and your Guardian Angel.
Running for the six Thursdays in Lent In person and livestreamed at Holy Spirit February 18th & 25th and March 4th, 11th 18th & 25th.
