Working with Vulnerable People card

Team Managers and Coaches must have their current Working with Vulnerable People card on them at ALL times when with the teams. Please update your WWVP card details in RevSport and forward a

copy to [email protected].

Training

The Club did not receive our preferred/requested training allocation this year and have been

allocated an 8pm – 9pm Tuesday training session. Similar to the CL alternate training sessions for the late timeslot, a rotating roster has been implemented to ensure fairness. In accordance with the roster, once every 3 weeks, your SL squad will be allocated the later 8-9pm training time. Please see the roster below for your convenience.

CL Men and Women Wednesday: Taylor (Tuggeranong) – 6-7pm, and Watt (Lyneham) – 8.30-9.30pm. Men and Women will alternative between venues. Men on Watt 17/03, Women on Watt 24/03 etc Thursday: Carter (Lyneham) – 7-8pm. SL Men and Women Tuesday: Powell – 7-8pm, and 8-9pm (Rotating Roster)

The State League rotating roster can be located at this LINK

Registration and Fees

Capital League 1 - $550 + HA Levy

Capital League 2 - $550 + HA Levy State League 1 - $550 + HA Levy State League 2 - $550 + HA Levy State League 3 - $520 + HA Levy State League 4 - $520 + HA Levy

Goalkeepers with their own equipment - $160 + HA Levy

Junior players, registered with St Pats juniors, registering in seniors receive a $150 reduction on their

senior playing fees. Juniors by age, who are not playing juniors must pay the full fee. Registration is open. Registration - St Patrick's Hockey Club - revolutioniseSPORT

As in previous years, and in consultation with the Treasurer, it is possible to pay fees by instalment. Please ensure when transferring money to the St Patricks senior bank account that the player name is entered as the reference.

As managers you must ensure that all your players have registered and have paid the Hockey Australia levy before attending any training sessions or games. Where a club is found to play a

player that is not registered in the Hockey ACT online database, a forfeit will be applied to that Team that the player played for.

(5)

Club Equipment

Each team is entitled to suitable training equipment at the expense of the Club. This includes balls, cones, bibs etc. If your kit needs updating or replenishing please contact

[email protected]. Two ‘game balls’ will be provided to each team at the beginning of the season. Each team should also carry a first aid kit at games and training. The Club will buy the initial kit and then it is the responsibility of the team to keep it replenished and within date.

Club Communication

Newsletters and other important Club information will be emailed either via RevSport or from the @stpatrickshockey.com.au emails. Members that have unticked ‘receive communication’ in RevSport will not receive emails. The member can check this setting in RevSport.

Uniform

The Club has introduced a new uniform for this season. Given the tight deadlines imposed to ensure the first round of uniforms were received before the start of the season we understand that not all players will have access to a new uniform by the first round. Old uniforms may continue to be worn, in the interim. A call for old uniforms will be made to fit-out new players who do not have an old uniform and whose new uniform does not arrive before the first round. Please encourage your players to support new players by offering their old uniform for loan.

Subbing and Juniors

A reminder of subbing rules are below:

4.3 In Capital League and State League, a player is eligible to play for any Team for which they are currently Graded. They may also play for their (registered) Club in a Team one Grade immediately below their current Grade, subject to rule 4.5, or for any Team from their (registered) Club in any higher Grade than their current Grade

4.5.3 A player is only eligible to play for one Team in each Grade if a Club has two or more Teams in a selected Grade.

4.5.5 In the Capital League and State League, a Team may play no more than a maximum of two (2) players who are currently Graded in a higher Grade. Clubs are encouraged to utilise players from lower Grades when extra players are required.

4.5.7 Once a senior registered player has participated in five (5) matches above the Players registered Grade, they will not be eligible to play in any further matches in the Grade below their registered Grade in the current Season without approval from the MC. (Eg. An SL2 Graded player fills in for SL1 five times they will now be ineligible to play in the SL3 Competition).

5.1 Junior Members (as defined in 2.2b) are entitled to unrestricted movement in the Capital League competition unless they are subject to all requirements outlined in 4.5.4. However, once a Junior Member participates in four (4) Capital League 1 matches they are ineligible to participate in any State League 1 or lower matches for the remainder of the Season. Junior Members playing in State League Competitions are subject to all senior grading rules.

(6)

5.2 Junior Development Players (defined in 2.2c) are entitled to unrestricted movement across three (3) nominated Grades. These are defined as the Grade in which the player is Graded and the two Grades immediately higher than their grading (eg. Graded in SL1 they can play CL1 & CL2). They are subject to all requirements outlined in 4.5.4. Once a Junior Development Player participates in four (4) Capital League 1 matches they will be reGraded into CL2 and will be subject to rules outlined in 4.5.7.

5.3 All Junior and Junior Development Players are not permitted to participate in more than two (2) matches in any senior round.

15.3 A player may not play in finals matches for a Team unless he or she has played at least fifty percent of the round matches played by that Team (or for any lower Graded Team of the same Club) and was eligible to play in the last round match for that Team

Please ensure you abide by these rules as violation of them will result in fines for the offending team and Club.

Responsibilities of a Team Manager

Assist the coach to ensure training and match days run smoothly, making sure there are enough players for each game and if not, work with the coach to find subs to fill in. There should always be subs on the sideline if possible in case of injury etc.

Maintain communication with players about match day and training day details e.g. Send out weekly email reminder of game time and location for coming week.

• Enter scores into Hockey ACT RevolutioniseSPORT on game day (see instructions below). • Organise a 3, 2, 1 ‘voting’ for best and fairest player. Submit your nomination to HockeyACT

in Round 18. HockeyACT will be running a Best & Fairest competition for each grade. “The Best & Fairest will be awarded to the player who is deemed to have the greatest overall performance across Rounds 1-18 based on their positive impact on the game.” (More

information will be provided by HockeyACT later in the season)

Ensure, along with the coach, that all players and parents observe player code of conduct in their behaviour at all times and escalate any matters to the Women’s Coordinator

Ensure that players are all wearing correct safety gear – e.g. mouth guards and shin pads

End of Year Responsibilities

• Provide “Best and Fairest” and “Most Improved Player” trophy nominations to the

Committee in time for the Presentation night (more information to be provided later in the year)

Organise and remind team to book for Presentation night and collect an estimate of numbers for the Committee

(7)

Dealing with Complaints or Incidents

First approach the coach (if they aren’t aware).

• If the issue can’t be sorted out between the players and the coach/ manager then it needs to be bought to the attention of the Women’s Coordinator as soon as possible. If required the issue may be escalated to the President.

• Remember to refer to our policies when talking to players so they can refer to them if required.

Injuries

• All players that have a member of the bench (coach or manager) or on-duty medical officer attend to them on the field of play must leave the field of play for a minimum of 2 mins. This is to be managed by tech bench and umpires (when no tech bench).

• Both fields have ice available for injuries, please familiarise yourself of where this is located at each hockey centre (Lyneham in freezer next to bottom of stairs as you walk into the main entrance, Tuggeranong ask at canteen)

Please familiarise yourself with the Hockey ACT Concussion Policy in case of any head injuries

If urgent medical attention is required please contact the Facilities Manager (they will be wearing brightly coloured shirt with facilities manager on the back) who are first aid officers and will also arrange for an ambulance and accesses to fields if required

Rules Regarding Entering Teams and Results

Please be aware of the following rules that apply to Managers/Clubs regarding teams and entering information into revolutionise.

Results must be entered by 5pm on Monday (following the weekend that game was played). Hockey ACT will work with clubs in the first few weeks to ensure everyone understands how to use the new database. If you are unsure, please contact your relevant Men’s, Women’s or Junior Coordinator in the first instance.

Clubs that continue to incorrectly enter results after being provided assistance for Hockey ACT will be issued with a warning. Continued non-compliance after a warning will result in penalties for the club.

All players MUST be registered before they take the field. There are no exceptions. You must not allow a non-registered player to play as this will result in the game being registered as a

FORFEIT.

Hockey ACT requires all members of teams to be entered into the system prior the start of the game. This has changed because of insurance requirements. There will be checks throughout the weekends by Hockey ACT and those teams found to not have listed players will be given a warning and subsequent infringements will result a FORFEIT.

Other functionality

There are a number of additional team management functions that are available through revolutionise include email and SMS.

• SMS Team – Please do not use this functionality. This is at an additional cost to the club

• Emailing Team – You can use the ‘email’ functionality contained in revolutionise to send

group emails to your teams. Please ensure that if you use this function, emails are not sent to all Members of the club, only those in your team.

Operational Guide for Entering Result on

Revolutionise Online Database

The following is a guide on how to enter results for teams in the Revolutionise database. In order to give people the administrative rights to be able to enter results for teams, you will first need to be an administrator of the Club database. Also, any person that the club wishes to have the ability to enter scores will have the be a member of the online database.

Step 1

Team managers or members that are intended to enter results need to be assigned to each team. Club administrators will need to go into each individual team to do this. It is important to select edit for team.

(12)

HOCKEY A.C.T.

Step 2

Once in the edit section, you will be able to seach for any registered member under the ‘Team Officials’ section. You will then be able to select the type of official that the person is and once you have selected ‘save changes’ at the bottom of the page, that person will now have permissions to enter results.

Step 3

Those people that have permissions and are entering results will need to go to the following web address;

https://client.revolutionise.com.au/hockeyact/ From here they will be able to login. The first page will show

(13)

HOCKEY A.C.T.

Step 4

In order to enter results, they will need to click on the competitions tab on the left hand side. From there you will need to select the competition the team plays and click on ‘view & enter results’.

Step 5

After clicking on view and enter results you will see a list of all the rounds for the season. At this point in time you will be able to go into any round for the season and be able to enter team lists. A reminder that team lists must be entered before teams take the field. To enter team lists and results, click on ‘view results’ and find the game involving your team. Click on ‘Enter’ next to the game and this will open up the game portal.

(14)

HOCKEY A.C.T.

Step 6

Once in the game portal you will be able to see the details of the games and be able to enter details of the games. At this point in time we want clubs to leave the umpires section vacant please. There are check boxes next to all the players registered to that team. You will need to check these to assign a player the game. Teams must also enter these statistics correctly or face having forfeits applied. Once this has all been done, click save changes and those changes will be saved. Games will lock on Monday as always.
