Preface

How To Use This Document

This training aid follows the same sequence as the video for Finish Your List, Mail House Set-up, and Export. TRG recommends opening the document on your computer to continue using the built in document functionality of the Table of Contents, hyperlinking and color

enhancement.

• Tips appear throughout the document set out in grey highlight. Tips can be best practices and other points of interest.

• Notes appear throughout the document to call attention to an additional functionality not specifically addressed in this lesson.

• Actions that you take in each step are Capitalized, and the title of the page, dialogue, or button appears in bold font.

What Is A List?

A list is a collection of patrons to whom you will send your mail or email campaign. Lists may also be used for research purposes, helping you understand how many patrons you have in various behavioral, demographic, or geographic profiles.

Tip: Former eMerge Users: In Data Center, “List” replaces what was called an “Order” in eMerge.

Finish List

Finishing your list is the final step to get your campaign in mail boxes. If your list includes trade requests, then you’ll want to make sure other organizations have responded to all your trade requests for the list before completing your list. That may mean waiting for your Approval Needed By Date to expire.

3. Cancel Open Trade Requests? may appear if your list contains trade segments that were NOT approved or denied for use by the organization you wanted to trade with. If you still have open trade requests, they must have some sort of response from the other organization, or you must cancel the request.

Select an export option

You have two key export options below.

1. Export as a csv file: Allows you to export your list as a comma separated values (CSV) file that will be readable in Excel or the majority of database systems. You can export either a de-duplicated list or a list containing duplicates. For the majority of exports, you’ll want to select “de-duplicated list.” This will export your net list, taking out any patron records if they appear elsewhere in the list and leaving with a list of unique records only. 2. Don’t export: Allows you to close the list without creating an export.

3. Click Next after making your selection.

Select a vendor

Select a vendor is where you’ll select your mail house (vendor) or select your existing vendor for mailing.

If you do not have a vendor set up for your organization, then Click on the “this form” hyperlink to open the vendor setup dialogue.

Vendor Setup Request

The Vendor Setup Request page requires the following information about your mail house or vendor:

• Company Name is the name of your mail house or vendor. • Contact Full Name is the name of your contact at the mail house.

• Contact Job Title is the job title of your contact at the mail house.Contact Phone Number is the phone number for your contact at the mail house.

• Contact Email is the email address for your contact at the mail house.

• Contact Email (Confirm) is where you’ll enter the email address again to confirm it. 1. Enter the requested data for your mail house or vendor.

2. Click Submit when you’ve entered all of your Vendor Setup information.

3. Wait for your TRG Representative to email you that your mail house has been set up for your organization. If you continue finishing your list with a vendor selected and it

Once your vendor is set up, you’ll see three options in the Select a vendor dialogue. Each selection description appears below, and more information about creating a download for you appears when you mouse over the blue button.

1. Your mail house (vendor) appears first. For example, “Lee’s Mail House” with contact name “Tony Henry,” is selected in the image below.

2. No vendor.

3. Create a download for me.

List Complete

The List Complete dialogue confirms that your list is completed.

1. An automated email is sent directly to your mail house (image at bottom). That email contains a link with log-in instructions for your vendor so they can download your exported list.

2. You have a direct link to File Manager which directs you to the Retrieve Files tab. 3. You can also Click Finish which closes the dialogue and takes you to the Retrieve Files

tab of the File Manager.

1. You can download your own data at any time by Clicking on the Download button at the far right of the page.
