PREFACE

In order to access Compulink’s Advantage Cloud services, a Remote Desktop application with Gateway settings is required. Compulink requires the use of Microsoft Remote Desktop App for Android mobile devices.

Android – Microsoft Remote Desktop

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL

Locate the Microsoft Remote Desktop App from the App store. Download and install the application. Click Accept to App permissions:

QUICK SETUP (Advanced: For Administrators only):

If you are familiar with advanced Remote Gateway access, configure the application with the settings below. For step by step instructions, go to CONFIGURE MS REMOTE DESKTOP.

Configuration Settings:

Connection Name: Advantage Cloud

PC Name: advantage.compulink.net

Gateway: Compulink Gateway

Server: cloud.compulink.net

Username: CLC\YourAssignedUsername

Password: Your assigned password

CONFIGURE MS REMOTE DESKTOP

ADD A GATEWAY

Open Microsoft Remote Desktop app on your Android Device. Click on Gateways.

Click on the + sign to Add a new Gateway.

Enter the following Gateway information. Saving username and password is optional.

Gateway: Compulink Gateway

Server: cloud.compulink.net

Username: CLC\YourAssignedUsername

Password: Your assigned password

Click Done.

Click on Gateway and choose Compulink Cloud as the Gateway. Click Done.

CONNECT TO COMPULINK CLOUD

Open Microsoft Remote Desktop and click on the Compulink Cloud Remote Desktop. If you receive a Certificate warning, cluck on Trust Always.

It will then connect to the Network.

LAUNCH COMPULINK

When logged in to the Cloud, click on the Advantage tile on your start page to launch the software.

Enter your usename and password to access the software. Please consult with your office manager to log into Advantage software.

MICROSOFT RDP TOOLS

Once the remote desktop connection has started, the connection bar includes tools for navigating in the session.

Connection Bar

Pan Control: The pan control enables the screen to be enlarged and moved around.

Enable the pan control: Tap the pan icon in the connection bar to display the pan control and zoom the screen. Use the pan control: Tap and hold the pan control and then drag in the direction you want to move the screen. Move the pan control: Double tap and hold the pan control to move the control on the screen.

Disable the pan control: Tap the pan icon in the connection bar to return the screen to its original resolution. Connection name / Application name: The current connection name is displayed.

Keyboard: The keyboard can be displayed, or hidden by tapping the keyboard icon. The pan control is displayed

automatically when the keyboard is displayed.

Move the connection bar: Tap and hold the connection bar, and then drag and drop to a new location at the top of

the screen.

Utility Bar

Tap the connection bar to display the utility bar above the keyboard or at the bottom of the screen. It contains modifier keys, enables switching between mouse modes, and additional keyboards. There are additional buttons for switching between active applications or starting a new application when connected to remote resources.

Mouse Modes

The mouse modes available are defined in the table.

Note: Direct multi-touch is available when connected to a remote PC running Windows 8 or newer. Windows 8 gestures take higher priority over gestures in the table.

On-screen Keyboards

You can use the utility bar to switch between the standard and additional keyboard.

External Mouse and Keyboard

The right mouse button is supported on Android version 2.3 and newer. Mouse wheel is supported on Android version 3.2 and newer. External keyboards are supported. If your device has an on-device hardware keyboard, review the setting Hardware keyboard mode.

Add a Remote Desktop Widget to the Home Screen

The Remote Desktop Client offers a widget that enables you to create a shortcut for remote desktops on your home screen.

Add a Remote Desktop Widget

Tap the All Apps button on the Home screen, and then tap Widgets.

Scroll through the widgets list to find the Remote Desktop Shortcut widget and then long-press

Remote Desktop Shortcut.

Drag and drop the Remote Desktop Shortcut widget to a Home screen panel.

In the Remote Desktop Shortcut list, tap the remote desktop you want to add to your home screen. In the Shortcut Label window, enter a label for the shortcut and then click OK. The shortcut for the remote desktop connection will be displayed on the window.
