Hello team coaches and managers,

It’s hard to believe that our Spring and Summer 2020 soccer season is right around the corner.

By now I am sure you are starting to plan Spring training and Summer tournaments, and are eager to see the snow begin to melt in a few short months.

The purpose of this letter is to invite you to attend and participate in the 2020 Crimson Friendlies.

What are the Crimson Friendlies you may ask? The Crimson Friendlies is a Spring tournament organized to benefit your team, players, and coaches.

The Crimson Friendlies will be held on the weekend of April 24-26th, 2020 at the beautiful Maple Grove High School - Crimson Stadium turf facility. Each accepted team will be guaranteed three matches against competitive teams around the state of Minnesota. For each match, teams will play two 25 minute halves with referees.

At Crimson Stadium, teams will have full access to team locker rooms, located underneath the home team grandstand. Fans will have the pleasure of watching the games from the grandstand high above the playing surface, and also have full access to concession and lavatory facilities.

Not sure which system will work best? Trying to find which player combinations will achieve the most success in the attacking third? The Crimson Friendlies will give you these opportunities and more. This event will be an outstanding opportunity for coaches, players, and teams to gain access to valuable competition only a mere 2 weeks away from the start of the MYSA summer season. Instead of paying upwards of $400-$500 or more for a Spring tournament, that normally is at risk of undesirable grass field conditions during our intrepid and wet upper Midwest weather, please consider taking advantage of our state-of-the-art turf facility and register for the Crimson Friendlies.

The soccer will be great and we are looking forward to another great Spring and Summer season.

Cost: $325 per team (3 games guaranteed) *Proceeds benefitting the Maple Grove High School Boys Soccer Program*

EACH TEAM ACKNOWLEDGES THAT SOCCER IS A CONTACT SPORT AND THEY ARE PARTICIPATING IN THIS TOURNAMENT AT THEIR OWN RISK. EACH TEAM AGREES THAT THE BOYS MAPLE GROVE SOCCER BOOSTER AND OSSEO AREA SCHOOLS DISTRICT CANNOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED DURING THIS TOURNAMENT. EACH TEAM WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HAVING EACH PLAYER FILL OUT AND HAVE PARENT SIGNATURE FOR THE MEDICAL RELEASE FORM.

EACH TEAM WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THEIR OWN COACHES AND PLAYERS, AND ANY INJURIES THAT MAY OCCUR.

2020 MAPLE GROVE CRIMSON FRIENDLIES RULES, REGULATIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Players:

 Each player participating in the 2020 Crimson Friendlies needs to complete and turn in a medical release form, which includes player name and parent and/or guardian signature.

2. Duration of Games:

 Games shall consist of two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break.

3. Substitutions:

 Substitutions can be made at any stoppage of play. Please have players ready to enter at the center of the field, so the referee can allow them in.

4. Tournament Game Rules and Fouls:

 FIFA rules will be enforced unless stated differently.

5. Standings:

3 points for a win 1 for a tie

scores & standings will be posted but it’s just a Friendly

6. Protests:

 Protests are not allowed. The decision of the 2020 Crimson Friendlies Tournament Committee is final.

7. Other:

 Each coach and/or team manager is responsible for the behavior of his or her team, coaches, and spectators. Any player, parent, coach, or spectator demonstrating conduct not in accordance with tournament, school, or legal regulations shall be evicted.

 The 2020 Crimson Friendlies are being held on Osseo School District property, therefore any

tobacco, alcohol, any illegal substance, and/or any type of weapon are prohibited.
