Course description
The Architecting HP Cloud Solutions course prepares the participant to navigate through the HP CloudSystem solution offerings and identify, describe, position, and specify the correct solution based on identified customer needs. Upon its completion, you should be able to demonstrate a broad understanding at the level of purpose, function, market positioning, competition, and capabilities of the HP CloudSystem solutions. Specifically, you should be able to:
Explain the cloud computing fundamentals
Describe the HP Cloud Functional Reference Architecture
Explain how customers can get to the cloud, using existing resources, new HP solutions, and HP and partner services
Address typical customer concerns
List and describe cloud-specific networking challenges and technologies addressing those challenges
Identify guiding principles required to propose a solution based on customer needs, and plan, design, and size the solution
Describe the HP CloudSystem offerings, positioning, and components
List and describe cloud resources available from HP
The Architecting HP Cloud Solutions course prepares new candidates for the HP ASE – Cloud
Architect V2 certification within the HP ExpertONE program. Candidates will also learn the

Who should attend
An HP employee, a channel partner, or a customer who needs to learn how to describe, position, recommend, select, and architect the HP CloudSystem solutions. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of HP Converged Infrastructure and its components, including HP servers, storage, networking, power and cooling, software, security, and services.

Lab 1 — Creating a CloudSystem Proposal (used throughout the course) o Analyze customer requirements

Lab 2 — Understanding the Lab Environment o Understand the CMOD lab environment
o Verify communication between Server Automation (SA) and HP Infrastructure Orchestration (HP IO)
o Validate SA operating system sequences in the Matrix OE environment o Ensure that SiteScope monitors appear in HP IO

Lab 3 — Provisioning Red Hat Servero Use the IO Designer to create a template
o Configure Server, Network, and Storage definitions in the IO Designer o Use the IO Self Service portal to request a service
o Approve a service request and monitor the progress of the service creation task o Check the E-Mail approval process
o Monitor the provisioning task in vCenter and in Server Automation o Flex up Virtual Machine vCPU characteristics
Lab 4 — Provision and Customize a Red Hat Web Server o Edit server properties
o Add application software to the software deployment
o Add workflows to a template for SiteScope monitors and Server Automation compliance and remediation
o Validate the SA operating system sequence availability in the Matrix OE
Lab 5 — Flexing Services with HP SiteScope and HP IO APIs o Flex up and down a service based on SiteScope alerts
Lab 6 — CloudSystem Matrix Bursting and Template Customization
o Set up the initial steps for CloudSystem Matrix to enable bursting to HP Cloud Services
o Modify the default currency settings for local billing
Lab 7 — HP Solution Demo Portal and CloudSystem Resources
o Use the HP Solution Demo Portal (SDP) as a learning or demonstration tool o Access the resource portals for HP CloudSystem Matrix
Note: This course has several activities where the learner will 1) work with a sample customer use case and a set of requirements and will design and propose a solution, 2) work with real remote equipment to perform hands-on labs demonstrating key features of the Matrix
Operating Environment 7.1 and Cloud Service Automation for Matrix (CSA for Matrix), 3) participate in several group discussions tied to real customer case studies and other activities.
