Development of Clinical Programs

2013 – Present Director, Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program. Since taking over the clinic leadership in 2013, the clinic volume has increased from 60 patients to > 400 patients. Responsible for establishing an infrastructure for clinic referral, identified the need to build a transition program and started the transition program in partnership with local primary care physicians. Developed a multidisciplinary clinic by recruiting a certified registered nurse practitioner, a neuropsychologist and a cancer genetic counsellor in addition to a clinical nurse coordinator. The clinic is focused on educating patients and families about their therapy related late effects and provide screening

recommendations according the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Long term follow up guidelines. The clinic is held weekly and we see 2 new patients and 6 patients for yearly follow ups every week. Developed a survivorship website as an online resource for patients learn about the clinic, read stories of

survivors, access custom podcasts and explore support opportunities Administrative Service
