1. PROJECT SCOPE

1.1 General outlines

COMPANY intends to develop a Floating LNG Production Unit in East Malaysia for capitalising on the availability of the gas resulting from the development of several gas fields in Malaysia. The purpose is to execute the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) for the PETRONAS Floating LNG Project.

The design basis is based on a new built vessel. The FLNG plant shall be designed for 1 MTPA production of LNG.

Design life for both Hull/marine and Topside are expected to be 20 years. This project is to be implemented in an Alliance between COMPANY and a consortium comprising of Technip Geoproduction (M) Sdn Bhd, Technip France and Daewoo Shipbuiding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd (hereinafter collectively referred to as “TDC”). The COMPANY and TDC have /will enter into a contract for the implementation of the PROJECT on an Alliance basis (“CONTRACT”)

1.2 Definitions

For clarification purposes, the definitions used in the present PROJECT Procedure are recalled here:  PROJECT: means the development and implementation of the PETRONAS Floating LNG

project (also referred as ”PFLNG Project”)

 WORKS: means all work in relation to the PROJECT required to be performed for the realisation the PROJECT.

 COMPANY: means Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“PETRONAS”) and MISC Berhad (“MISC”)  CONTRACTOR: means a consortium comprising of TPGM, TPF and DSME (also referred as

“TDC”)

 ALLIANCE INTEGRATED TEAM: The team set up by COMPANY and the CONTRACTOR to facilitate the smooth implementation of the WORKS.

2. PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to stipulate basic design data, documentation and requirements for the design, material supply and fabrication of pipe supports in piping systems to be used for PETRONAS Floating LNG project.

All piping systems shall be evaluated and analyzed for adequate supports concept and definition in accordance with applicable codes and standards, and suppliers’ recommendations as applicable. This standard mainly applies to metallic piping system. All non-metallic such as RTRP and CPVC etc. piping shall be supported in accordance with Manufactures’ recommendations. Support standards indicated for RTRP and CPVC piping are for reference only.

This pipe support construction standard shall be used for topsides piping scope (including inside hull) for PETRONAS Floating LNG project. This standard includes the general notes, tables, list, synoptic tables and compilation of pipe support construction details.

4.2 Numbering of Tagged Items

(Controlled in the tagged items data sheets)

In case, if the PS or SP support is having TAGGED ITEMS (Spring Hangers. Rigid Struts, Sliding Plates etc). Then the same will be identified in the component notes of support modeller, so that it will be reflected in isometric against the support.

E.g: 1101-HGR-01 (Refer below for the details of numbering of tagged items).

4.3 Primary and Secondary Pipe Supports Tagging in Isometrics.

The Pipe Support may consist of combination of Primary and Secondary Standard Supports. The entire standard supports are tagged with the variables as per Support Construction Standard. Primary supports are attached to pipe, like shoe, stopper, guide, trunnion, etc. and Secondary supports are structural supports, like Cantilever bracket, T-post, L-type, Portal type etc.

The secondary structural support tagged with unique no. and other primary supports are tagged with suffix P1, P2, P3 etc. at same support location.

In case the pipe support without any secondary support, then the first primary support will be tagged with unique no. and other primary supports are tagged with suffix P1, P2, P3 etc. at same support location.

Special supports shall be individually detailed, in the form of dimensional drawings, and may include some Standard Support components such as trunnion, guide, stopper etc.

5. DETAILED INFORMATION RELATING TO STANDARD SUPPORTS

 Pipe support location shall be indicated in Piping Isometrics for pipe sizes 2"Dia. and above. Pipe sizes smaller than 2"Dia. shall be supported by YARD unless otherwise noted.

 Standard supports shall be used. Special supports shall be used when the loading or dimension criteria of standard supports are exceeded. These shall be designed and checked by the responsible Structural/Civil Engineer where necessary.

 All standard dimensions or loads are specified per metric system: Millimetres (mm) for dimensions and Kilo Newton (KN) for loads. Pipe nominal diameters are defined in inches.  If other structural shapes or threaded parts are used, YARD shall make sure that used materials

are equivalent to those defined in quality, dimensions and mechanical properties.

 YARD shall make sure that all structural supports attached to primary steel or circular sections shall be provided with doubler plate.

 LENGTHS DEFINED ON CONSTRUCTION STANDARD SUPPORT SERIES STC-1391, STC-13 92 AND STC-1394:

Length "X" or other variables defined in pipe support isometrics are the theoretical calculated lengths from ground level, structural beam or concrete beam level. To take into account the effective length of structures, YARD shall add allowance to the lengths defined to be adjusted in field.

Generally, support weld fillet shall be performed according to the following detail. When other impositions are required (full penetration, etc.), a special support detail shall be indicated.

 All welding of dissimilar materials shall be covered by special welding procedure.

 YARD shall field check all pipe supports after installation and add necessary reinforcement, bracing or stiffeners. Limit this reinforcement to secondary structures only and attachment like rigid struts and springs.

All pipework “permanent and temporary” shall be securely fastened to minimize vibration and prevent damage during transportation.

 Pipe shoe with variable height shall be adjusted by shim or field weld support. For all lines, shimming plates will be in YARD’s scope for thickness ≤ 20mm. Shimming under elbow supports shall be fully welded to the support after all joints in piping are made up. Shims under pipe or sliding supports shall be fully welded to support steel after all piping joints are made up.

 All pipe supports should rest on structural steel and not on grating. Thickness of support base plate shall not be less than chequered plate or deck / floor plate thickness.

 All guides, line stops, anchors and spring supports shall be installed only where indicated on piping isometrics. During installation and welding of guide and line stop components, gaps specified on isometrics according to stress analysis calculation shall be strictly followed. They shall not be added in the field without prior approval.

 All commercial parts called for on Pipe Support Construction Standard shall be identified by catalogue number. Equivalent parts by other manufacturers may be substituted with the approval of the COMPANY.

 Spring and level arms shall be protected against overload during hydrostatic test. All restraints or stops installed for this purpose shall be removed immediately after testing has been completed. Refer Piping Fabrication, Installation & Testing Speccification doc. No. 5867-0000-JSD-1300- 10025.

 Where shims or packings are called for on steel supports, they must be seal welded to the supporting steel. Packings shall be provided on Base Spring Supports, as required to suit the installed dimensions.

 Welds not specified shall be 6 mm continuous fillet. Fillet welds to piping however, shall not be greater than the pipe wall thickness. All supports shall be seal welded.

 For Welding and Non Destructive Examination (NDE), refer specification doc. no. 5867-0000- JSD-1300-10025 section 6 and section 8.

 For stress relieved lines, welded attachments such as trunnions, dummy pipes, stanchions and protection shields shall be welded before stress relieving (PWHT).

 All pipe support elements and structures shall be painted in accordance with the Painting Specification Document 5867-0000-JSD-2300-10001 prior to installation of piping. After painting, each standard support element shall be paint marked or tagged with its relevant tag number (except for guiding angles and U-bolts).

 All vent/weep holes to be plugged with mastic after final installation and testing.  All sharp corners shall be rounded off and rounding radius shall be R15.

 YARD shall drill holes on steel plates and concrete according to the effective bolt diameter and length used as per stud bolt or expansion bolt manufacturer.

 Fireproofing: pipe supports in the Fireproofing zone which need Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and in the Cryogenic Spill Protection (CSP) shall be fireproofed according to Passive fire & Cryogenic Spill Protection Philosophy 5867-0000-JSD-1900-10005.

 All base type springs shall be stitch welded to the structural steel and sealed with mastic.  All non-metallic pads under uninsulated lines shall be properly secured on the structural steel.

 All support details for Non-metallic piping shall be in accordance with the Manufacturer’s recommendations.

6. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR SUPPORT COMPONENTS WELDED ON PIPE

 All attachments welded directly to piping shall be of the same material as parent pipe. YARD shall ensure that such welding is performed prior to PWHT or in accordance with the parent pipes that have a particular welding requirement.

 Attachment welds shall be continuous. Stitch welding is not permitted.

7. MATERIAL (VENDOR SUPPLIED)

 Itemised material like Spring Supports, Rigid Struts and Sliding Plates shall be stored and protected in shop before field installation. Particular care should be taken during installation of Sliding Plates for welding, positioning at support points and protection to avoid damage to P.T.F.E and Stainless Steel parts.

 YARD shall follow requirements of Itemized Material Suppliers.

8. PIPE SHOE HEIGHTS

 Pipe shoe height “H” specified on pipe support isometrics will be the total height from bottom of pipe to top of support beam.

NOTES:

Pipe guide and hold down spans are based on the following assumptions:

1. All piping in PFLNG project are subjected to various environmental and operational conditions which are considered in stress analysis. Applicable conditions are taken into considerations for calculation of guide and hold down spans. However blast case not considered.

2. Adequate flexibility on account of thermal growth and equipment sway shall be ensured while specifying guides and hold downs.

3. Maximum operating stresses and stress range due to lateral and vertical deflection of the pipe between guide / hold down are maintained within B31.3 code limits.

4. Pipes are considered to be placed on elevation 56500 mm for consideration of wind effect, hull accelerations and structural deflections (hogging & sagging etc.).

5. Pipe schedules (SCH) are as shown above (The use of lower schedules would require shorter guide and hold down spans).

6. Insulation density is taken as 200 kg/m³.

7. Table is only valid for continuous piping without heavy concentrated loads (in line items valves, tees etc.) or direction changes. Necessary equivalent effect of these loads to be considered while specifying guide/ hold down restraints.

HEAT TREATMENT FOR WELD SUPPORTS Notes on Heat Treatment:

1. The requirements of this table are in accordance with those of ASME code B31.3 and requirements of ASME shall prevail. 2. SA= support thickness, SB= piping thickness, T= throat thickness of fillet welds, TS= tensile strength.

3. The side of fillet welds shall be 8/10 of the smaller thickness to be welded.

4. Welding operations may not be performed with an ambient temperature of less than -20°C.

5. For ambient temperature of less than 5°C, preheating shall be carried out notwithstanding the required conditions.

6. When lines are heat-treated for process and stress corrosion cracking purposes, verify whether support-piping welds (non-pressurized part weld) are to be heat-treated notwithstanding material characteristics. In all events, heat treatment (PWHT) shall be performed for Caustic soda service piping classes.
