MAN TeleMatics® holds value for every fleet. Additional service packages

can be configured in addition to the MAN TeleMatics® Basic

package to suit your specific requirements. Basic.

This package forms the basis for efficient fleet management. You receive access to the MAN maintenance data portal and can use detailed vehicle operational analysis to see savings potential with respect to fuel consumption and wear. Maintenance data transmitted from MAN vehicles shows at a glance which vehicle needs to be scheduled in for a maintenance appointment at what point. The workshop is able to actively draw up an anticipated maintenance plan. The online maintenance management enables workshop stopovers to be considerably reduced. This feature supports dispatchers and fleet managers in the optimisation of deployment planning and simultaneously increases the availability of vehicles and safety.

Map.

Tracking & tracing together with geofencing form the key components of the MAN TeleMatics® Map package. The current positions of the vehicles

are displayed on a digital map. The progress of a trip is traceable at any time by analysing the messages received. The geofencing function automatically

generates a message when a vehicle enters and leaves a defined area. ➜ Functions

Eco.

Operational analysis for driver and vehicle supplies detailed information for optimising consumption and operating costs. The analysis also incorporates indicators of wear and anticipatory driving style, such as the use of the brakes, cruise control and accelerator, as well as the gross train weight and route topog-raphy. The operational analysis shows the difficulty of the vehicle deployment and efficiency of the driving style for each driver. The MAN TeleMatics® efficiency

report indicates potential for improving the driving style at the push of a button. All data relevant to economical driving is shown individually and evaluated. The deployment history additionally offers a detailed overview of driving times and downtimes.

Time.

MAN TeleMatics® Time supplies all data relevant to effective time management.

The residual driving time display offers dispatchers additional planning security and creates absolute transparency regarding driving and resting times. In this way, a single glance shows whether a driver can be assigned another trip. The remote download function allows statutory requirements for reading out driver cards and mass storage units to be met, irrespective of the vehicle’s location. Time intervals for data transfer can be freely configured by the user.

MAN TeleMatics® app for Apple® iPhone® and iPad®.

Only being able to access information using a PC is a thing of the past! With the new MAN TeleMatics® app for iPhone®

and iPad®, you can now query the current position and

status of your vehicles, including maintenance data, while the vehicles are on the road. Integrated reporting provides you with a quick overview of basic deployment data. If required, you can use the iPhone® app to contact the driver

directly, by phone or by SMS.

Mathias Krage, Managing Director, Krage Spedition Krage Spedition decker&co Spedition, Achern

An increasing number of haulage companies are taking advantage of fleet

management by MAN TeleMatics®. The key to success is increased efficiency and

lower diesel costs.

Krage Spedition, Hanover: “5% less diesel consumption”.

Krage Spedition relies not only on low-consumption MAN trucks, but also on MAN services which help to achieve greater fleet economy and efficiency. Driver efficiency data supplied by MAN TeleMatics®

have a positive effect on consumption. “We can use vehicle deployment analysis data to quickly opti-mise driving style”, explains Mathias Krage. His estimates indicate that fuel consumption is around 30 to 31 litres per 100 kilometres, with relatively high weights when carrying cargo. “Diesel consumption is now around 5% lower”.

decker&co Spedition, Achern: “Proprietary telematics with precise data”.

“Using MAN data gives me information that an independent provider would almost certainly not be able to provide”, explains Thomas Huber, Haulage Manager at decker&co of Achern. “The proprietary telematics data is complemented by a greater quantity of data and more precise data”, explains Huber on the driving style of his drivers. “I can see where my drivers are, how they are driving, braking and changing gear”. Mr Huber can point to a number of successes since he began using the service in 2011: “I no longer have to give drivers so much active training. I can see on screen whether drivers are actually putting into practice what they have learnt in training”. Fuel consumption has also been reduced.

Continuous training: Manfred Spreitzer trains his drivers.

Experience greater efficiency: MAN ProfiDrive®

What distinguishes a good driver from the rest? A willingness to become even better. The first step is the “Economical Driving” training from MAN ProfiDrive®,

which is the cornerstone of optimal vehicle operation.

In the second step, “Driver Coaching”, MAN ProfiDrive® offers the option to pass

on this knowledge on the basis of MAN TeleMatics® operational analysis data. In

this step, drivers are given individual coaching by a ProfiDrive® trainer.

In the third step, those responsible for fleets can take part in “TeleMatics®

Inten-sive Training” from MAN ProfiDrive® and learn how to optimise the driving style

of every driver in order to sustainably increase the economic efficiency of the company.

➜ Benefits for you:

n

n Even experienced drivers can drive more economically with ProfiDrive® training.

n

n Using cruise control, intarder, accelerator and brakes correctly helps to save

fuel, reduce wear and lower maintenance costs.

n

n Trained drivers are able to cover up to 15% of their journey in pure coasting mode

with minimal diesel consumption.

n

n Driving economically can reduce costs by as much as 30% by reducing wear

and consumption when compared to driving uneconomically.

n

n Regular driver training is prescribed by the Professional Driver Qualification Act

in EU Member States.

Transporte Schmid, Regensburg: “Technology and trained drivers”.

Regensburg-based haulage company Schmid sets great store by making efficient use of modern technology and maximising driver potential. “We have quickly come to realise the potential of regular driver training. Together with the MAN TeleMatics®

connection, we have reduced fuel consumption by up to 2% on average”. This has been achieved with the help of a vehicle package configured in conjunction with MAN: MAN Euro 6 trucks in the TGX Efficient Line series have been equipped with safety features such as radar-distance control and Lane Guard System, together with MAN TeleMatics®. Markus Schmid: “Only those companies using well-trained

drivers in vehicles with state-of-the-art technology can stand out from the crowd”. Spedition Hillert, Bocholt: “Fleet consumption significantly reduced”. “By participating in TeleMatics® Intensive Training and having access to monthly

evaluations with operational analysis and tips for economical driving, we’ve been able to work with our drivers to reduce fleet consumption. With a fleet of 84 vehi-cles and an average annual mileage of 120,000 km, the savings are significant. With ever increasing diesel process, being able to reduce consumption is an im-portant tool in cutting costs”.
