Description of Business

The Adcraft Club of Detroit is the catalyst that brings together the Detroit advertising and marketing

communications communities to exchange ideas, educate our membership and young professionals, recognize and celebrate great work, and foster creativity in our various crafts and our greater community. The Adcraft Club provides every member with numerous opportunities to network, expand their knowledge, find career opportunities, establish meaningful business relationships, and give back to their community. Adcraft PM is a sub-committee of the Adcraft Club of Detroit that focuses on planning and hosting social and civic events directed toward, but not exclusive to, the young members of the club and college students. These informal networking opportunities for young Adcrafters and students act as the perfect segue from college into the professional ad industry. Adcraft PM events usually take place in the evening after business hours (hence “PM”).

Objective

The object of this contest is to design a new logo for Adcraft PM, a sub-committee of the Adcraft Club of Detroit that focuses on planning and hosting social and civic events directed toward, but not exclusive to, the young

members of the club and college students.

Eligibility

1. The contest is open only to individuals. The contest is not open to companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. or to groups associated with such institutions.

2. The contest judges and their immediate family are not eligible to enter the contest.

How to Enter

1. Initial entries must be submitted by email to [email protected]. The entries must be submitted as a scalable vector graphic in EPS format, and also as a JPEG. See the Submission Guidelines below for further information. 2. The email must include the name, address, phone number, email address of the entrant, and name of school (if

applicable).

3. No more than 3 entries may be submitted by any one entrant.

4. Entries must conform to the Submission Guidelines set out below. Entries which fail to do so will be rejected. 5. The deadline for entries is midnight on Friday, June 20th, 2014.

6. There is no fee to enter the contest.

Submission Guidelines

The purpose of the contest is to design new a logo for Adcraft PM. The logo will be used online, in print, on merchandise, and on event signage. Flexibility is a key requirement, including the need to resize easily and to look good in black & white as well as color on both light and dark backgrounds. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing. The logo must also be professional and appropriate for all audiences. While the logo needs to look good at relatively small sizes, it will not need to be shrunk for use as a Favicon. Entrants should take care to ensure that their entries are not in any way similar to existing logos or other copyrighted images.

The logo must contain the words “Adcraft PM,” but must not contain any other text.

Due to the requirements for high quality printing and re-sizing, entries must be submitted in scalable vector graphic format (EPS). We advise against the use of halftones and gradients. Please create color versions in CMYK and RGB, no spot colors.

It is also required to provide high res JPEGs of your logo in both black & white and color for the judging process. To recap, each entry will consist of 6 files: the logo in black & white, the logo in CMYK color, and the logo in RGB color; each in EPS and JPEG formats. We are able to handle most common file compression formats.
