ALL COMMUNITY EVENTS

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Would you like to be part of producing running events? All Community Events has many paid part time and weekend job openings for the 2014 season. We believe this is an exciting opportunity for the person who wants to be involved where the action is at, in a position with high

responsibility working with a team to create events where someone may complete their first 5k or finish their 50th marathon. So, if you enjoy

working hard under pressure, thinking fast, being flexible, helping people and being part of the running scene then we hope you will consider

working with us!

AVAILABLE JOB OPPORTUNITIES

A. Part Time Weekend/Event Day

These are jobs that occur on event day which is normally a Saturday or Sunday

B. Part Time M-F

Work from home part time during the week.

C. Internship Program

Part time and full time. Spring, Summer and Fall.

D. Full Time Event Manager

A. PART TIME WEEKEND/EVENT DAY

The following Jobs pay between $50 and $200 per day! Jobs are part time weekend jobs.

COURSE SETUP MANAGER:

1. Could you out navigate Christopher Columbus? Is Mapquest your middle name? Is Rand McNalley your father? Basically are you awesome at reading maps?

2. Do you love riding your bike lots of miles? Does physical labor get you excited? 3. Do you like working under pressure and think time crunches are fun?

4. Are you a thorough person who executes 100% not leaving out a detail?

The course manager is responsible for setting up and tearing down the course. Sometimes this is as simple as staking signs on trails in a forest preserve. Other times this includes setting up detailed conage and barricades in a very short amount of time. This job requires someone who is smart, fast and physical.

REGISTRATION MANAGER:

The Registration Manager is completely in charge of the registration area at the event. This requires a special upbeat person who is a leader. We say leader because you will need to be able to clearly explain to up to 40 volunteers their task, confidently answer questions, super politely help participants who may have some pre-race anxiety and kindly and strongly uphold our set of guidelines when participants try to take advantage of you.

On event day the registration manager will completely set up the registration area, explain to volunteers their tasks, manage registration, customer service, handle any issues that may arise, transform the registration tent to food tent after event starts, food inventory tracking and registration area clean up.

Typical time commitment: (Saturday or Sunday - 5:00am – 12:30pm (As early as 4am) and pre event packet pick up the day before the race)

ANNOUNCER:

This is the job for a super positive person who speaks clearly and intelligently seeming to never run out of things to say (that people actually want to hear ). The task of an announcer is to set an upbeat mood for the event, communicate important information to participants, announce awards, cheer runners into the finish line, etc.

LEAD BIKE:

The Lead Bike is responsible for knowing the course better than the back of their hand as their task is to guide the lead runner, communicate back to race control any on-course issues and be the last person to ensure volunteers in position are directing the correct direction. After leading the first runner to finish line, the lead bike would rebike the course picking up directional signs and trash on trail and dropping off at key intersections. Must have your own bike and be able to keep a pace of 12 mph for 2.5 hours.

Typical time commitment: (Saturday or Sunday - 7:30am – 12:30pm)

GENERAL LABOR & VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:

Do you love to start work at 4am, like lifting, working fast and building stuff?... Then this may be the place for you as these people set up and tear down the entire start/finish area and on-course water stations. In between setup and teardown, setup personnel would be in charge of placing volunteers on course or managing a water station volunteers.

Typical time commitment: (Saturday or Sunday - 4:05am – 2pm (As early as 2am))

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:

Volunteer coordinators will be in charge of tasks like managing on-course water stations and placing volunteers on course at key intersections.

Typical time commitment: (Saturday or Sunday - 6:45am – 11am)

B. PART TIME MONDAY – FRIDAY

The following are part time jobs requiring work to be completed Monday-Friday.

OFFICE SUPPORT:

This position is responsible for answering emails, recruiting volunteers, participant outreach and many other office tasks. Must own a computer with Microsoft Office and high speed internet connection.

Typical time commitment:

15 hours per week, work from home option Starting at $160/week

GRAPHIC DESIGNER:

The graphic designer is responsible for designing everything: award medals, web content, e-mails, advertisements, event shirts, etc. Designer must have Adobe Software CS 4 or better and have access to high speed internet. If you are interested in this job please submit your portfolio.

Typical time commitment: 20 hours a week or less Pay: Submit a proposal

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT TEAM:

This person would help brainstorm and create social media content. Applicant must be able to create the graphics they come up with. If you are interested in this position, please submit your concepts with your resume.

Typical time commitment:

8 hours per week, work from home Pay: TBD

C. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (PAID! )

Aspiring event managers, marketers and graphic designers hungry to gain experience… We got the program for you! Gain a range of

experience in almost all aspects of event management from concept, to marketing and event day execution. We have full and part time PAID positions available for spring, summer and fall.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

-Events require A LOT of physical work so you must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly for an extended amount of time. Running events depend on site maps and course maps so you MUST HAVE MAP READING CAPABILITIES.

-Must be able to commit to a minimum of one full season (Spring, Summer or Fall) for all All Community Events events or The Glo Run events

THE GLO RUN – DREAM CREW

The Glo Run Dream Tour 2014 is the original and most exciting Glo-in-the-dark running series touring across the nation! Join our team to be part of creating something really spectacular and get paid for doing it! Working for the glow run requires a special person who can be working hard and thinking fast during setup and then be able to switch gears during the event to a person that can get crazy with participants and boogey. At The Glo Run we work hard and we play hard and everyone has got to be good at both. If this is you then we hope you will join our team.

THE GLO RUN REGISTRATION MANAGER:

(AVAILABLE AS PART TIME OR INTERNSHIP)

Leave Saturday at 5am, Return Sunday at Noon

(Could leave as early as Friday morning and be back as late as Sunday late night)

THE GLO RUN COORDINATION CREW:

(AVAILABLE AS PART TIME OR INTERNSHIP)

This is a crazy job where one moment the crew is setting up the festival area, lifting, building, reading maps making the event come to life. Then the next moment the event starts and the crew is coordinating volunteers, getting crazy with participants by setting the party tone at one of the on

course dreamscapes, basically the crew lets loose and has a good time so participants know that is what they are supposed to do. Crew members must be able to work long hours, repeatedly being able to lift 50lbs and must be able to read maps.

Typical time commitment:

Leave Saturday at 5am, Return Sunday at Noon

(Could leave as early as Friday morning and be back as late as Sunday late night)

THE GLO RUN DJ/MC

This person is in charge of leading our awesome finish line party at The Glo Run for 1000s of participants!! This is for someone who can connect with the crowd getting them involved, dancing and having a great time!! This is not for the DJ who sits behind the table mixing. This is for the DJ who likes to be in front of the table interacting and connecting with the crowd. Getting the crowd involved. The person who can get a whole room dancing. This person is truly an entertainer and must be very comfortable on stage in front of 1,000s of people. NO DJ EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Typical time commitment:

Leave Saturday at 5am, Return Sunday at Noon

(Could leave as early as Friday morning and be back as late as Sunday late night for select events)
