Co-operation possibilities
• Scientific co-operation with different research institutes in AKITA
• co-operation in the development of innovation strategy for North-Hungarian region
• establishment of „knowledge and technology transfer centres” (e.g. software centre, cutting centre, etc.) - services and consultacy for local companies
• investment in R&D - attracting potential foreign investors
Bay Zoltán Foundation for Applied Research
Department for Structural Integrity
What is structural
integrity?
• integrity of engineering structures and components assured by:
– proper product design and technology development
– reliable operation
– continuos monitoring of the state of the structure/equipment, proper inspection system
– proper maintenance of the structure – lifetime management (defect
assessment) ? NDT methods Mechanical testing FEM analysis Numerical methods Analysis of loading conditions
Bay Zoltán Foundation for Applied Research
Main activities and research fields
• application of CAD and finite element analysis in the machine/product design and production technology development,
• application of numerical methods for simulation the operation conditions of structures (e.g. Finite Element Modelling),
• research of the damage processes of structural materials, • evaluation of the condition of structures, defect and lifetime
assessment - applied fracture mechanics,
• analysing the information content of digital diagnostic testing methods, their applicability and reproducibility
