LUCA SOLARI is Professor of Organization Theory and Human resource management at the University of Milan (the second largest university in Italy) where he has taught since 2001. His academic work comprises strategy, organizational design issues, and human resource management strategies and practices, with a vast array of previous research and intervention experiences in different industries ranging from service to manufacturing. He has published extensively in Italian and English, and possesses a vast global network both in research and in the HR profession.

For the academic year 2012/2013 he has been visiting professor at the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, in San Luis Obispo, California.

He received his B.S. degree in Italy in 1991 and his PhD in 1997 from Bocconi University. He began his career at Bocconi University, and he has taught at LIUC Castellanza, and the University of Trento. He has been visiting scholar at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, visiting professor at Edhec in Nice (France), and he is presently in the Faculty of the MBA Program at MIP, School of Management, Milan, Italy where he teaches Human Resources. He was responsible for designing the new strategy for continuous improvement and learning at the University of Milan, and has for several years been working on identifying areas for potential development of the integration between social media and HR processes.

He has an extensive experience in design and delivery of Corporate Executive training programs, and after a long career as Strategic Consultant in Organization and HRM, he presently acts as Corporate Sense maker, Blogger, and Social Media Experimenter, investigating the Future of Work and the Future of Productivity.

He is a Member of different academic and professional associations (Academy of Management, European Human Resource Forum, Society for Human Resource Management, AIDEA, etc.) and he acts as reviewer for different journals, including Human Resource Management.

He  has  researched  change  management,  human  resource  management,  organizational   innovation,  people  strategy  and  has  an  excellent  command  of  different  research  techniques   both  at  academic  and  professional  level.
