Family Connections Program:

For Parents with Cancer

Provides supportive resources to adult patients who are parents, addressing their needs as

parents and those of their young, school age, and/or teenaged children. Age-appropriate

information is available through various materials, including:

Spanish)

Age-based packs for children/teens of patients

Grief packets

One-to-One:

Connecting with Someone Who’s Been There

One-to-One is a volunteer support network supporting patients and families at the

Dana-Farber/Brigham and Woman's Cancer Center. One-to-One brings together, via telephone,

those who have experienced the complex issues surrounding high-risk cancer, diagnosis and

treatment with current patients, partners, and family members. For more information, contact

Light One Little Candle:

Connecting through Reading

New children’s books (for children ages 13 and under) are available to adult patients who

would like to share these books with their children. The books are donated through a

partnership with the Light One Little Candle Foundation and the Family Connections program.

These children’s books are free and currently available in the

Blum Resource Center

at the

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and, are also available to adult cancer patients at the Brigham

and Women’s Hospital in the

Kessler Library

in the main lobby of the 75 Francis Street

entrance, and with the DFCI social workers at

Faulkner Hospital, Dana-Farber/New Hampshire

Oncology-Hematology,

Milford Regional Hospital

, and

in the Resource Room at

DFBWCC in

clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital
