ECTA, the European Cutting Tools Association, sincerely invites you to its annual

European Cutting Tool Conference. ECTA is a vigorous and attractive organization,

bringing together all stakeholders in the European Cutting Tool Industry. With more

than 40 years of diligent, effective and valuable work, ECTA has become one of

the major forums in which manufacturers of cutting tools and holding fixtures can

consult with each other and share concerns and ideas.

This year’s conference is organized by Swissmem, our member association in

Switzerland. It takes place in Montreux, a beautiful city situated between Lake

Geneva, vineyards, and the Alps. We are convinced that this location represents

the ideal setting for an unforgettable event.

We have carefully selected a program which will reflect the main objectives of

the metal-cutting business. A central point will be the outlook on technical trends

and developments strongly linked to the chances and challenges arising out of

them. Lectures on global market perspectives, the impact of demographic change

and product branding will conclude the conference program.

For partners, an attractive partners’ program has been arranged.

Make use of these excellent opportunities for interaction with industry

colleagues. We are looking forward to meeting you in Montreux and we

hope that your participation in the ECTA Conference 2014 will be both

profitable and pleasant.
