SAINT ANNE PARISH © 2021 (Excerpt –Catholic Doors Ministry)

As branches, there are many ways that we can abide in Jesus and receive life from him so we can bear fruit.

One way is by hearing the Word of God. Through the Spirit, the Word feeds our souls.

So powerful is the Word of God that it is “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul fron spirit…” (Heb. 43:12)

The Word of God has the power to transform those who sincerely seek the truth.

To the Parishioners of

Queen of Angels Parish, Port Angeles St. Joseph Parish, Sequim

St. Anne Parish, Forks

St. Thomas the Apostle Mission, Clallam Bay

Dear Friends,

I am happy today to greet all of you in the name of the Risen Lord Jesus!

As Archbishop, I have the important responsibility of providing you with ongoing pastoral care and sacramental ministry in your parish community.

At this time, I write to inform you that your parishes and mission will be coming together under one pastoral leader beginning July 1. As a result of this new configuration, sacramental and pastoral ministry needs for St.

Thomas the Apostle Mission in Clallam Bay are currently being studied by the Strategic Planning Committee in communication with the Olympic Deanery. Reduction in ministry in Clallam Bay will most likely take place as part of this configuration. I am pleased to announce that, after consultation with the Priest Personnel Board, I have appointed Father Randy Guarino as your new Priest Administrator and Father Naresh Gali as your new Parochial Vicar. Presently, Father Guarino is the Priest Administrator at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Port Townsend. Father Gali, a priest of the Diocese of Nellore, India, is still in the process of receiving an R1 Visa to arrive in time for a July 1 start date.

Father Guraino and Father Gali are wonderful priests who will serve you and your parish with good faith and dedication. Be assured that they will receive all of the support and assistance from the Archdiocese necessary to ensure quality pastoral care for your parish community. At the same time, I want to personally thank Cathy Wiswell and Father Leonardo Pestaño for their wonderful service as your pastoral coordinator and parish priest.

Consistent with her servant heart, Cathy is ready to move back into the role of regional administrator, which now extends to the west end. Father Leonardo will move forward in responding to God’s call in his new assignment as Priest Administrator of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Vancouver. Finally, I want to personally thank Father Francis Arulappan, HGN, for his tremendous service these past four years to Grays Harbor, Forks and Clallam Bay.

Times of transition are challenging, as we prepare to say goodbye to a familiar presence and welcome a new pastoral leader. However, if embraced in an open and positive way, this can be a time of blessing for the entire parish. I am confident that will be the case as you welcome Father Randy Guarino and Father Naresh Gali to your parishes.

In the Heart of Christ,

Most Rev. Paul D. Etienne, DD, STL , Archbishop of Seattle

REGISTRATION FOR IN PERSON MASS IS DISCONTINUED

Registrations, i.e., reservations, for Mass are being discontinued as of April 5

th

as our capacity increases to 50 and admittance will be based on a first come, first serve basis.

We will be getting creative to make this happen and still keep everyone safe. Greeters, ushers seating parishioners and all other procedures and protocols will stay in place.

Please come to Mass early to be seated. If we find the make-up of the attendees does not allow for social distancing you may be turned away in order to keep everyone safe. Doors will be closed when we reach capacity or when Mass begins, whichever comes first.

REMINDERS FOR MASS

It has been a long time since the pandemic has swept around the world and through our corner of the country. It seems like a lifetime ago since we have been able to attend Mass without special considerations in place. Pandemic fatigue is a real thing. People need a break from routine to recharge body and soul. Unfortunately, Covid 19 does not allow for a break. We all need to stay focused and attentive to detail to keep ourselves and those closest to us safe.

The same guidelines are still in place: wear a well-fitting mask, wash your hands, or use hand sanitizer, maintain social distance, and stay at home if you are sick or exposed to someone who is sick. What does this mean for us to attend Mass?

Wait to be admitted into the church. Do not crowd into the entry. Pay attention to the usher. They are there to keep us at proper intervals before, during and after Mass. The Archdiocese says that a collection can be taken as long as the basket has a handle on it that is held by the usher.

Communion must be received from the Priest in your hand without contact. If there happens to be accidental direct touch/contact, please tell the usher. You need to sanitize immediately, and the Priest needs to sanitize before continuing with Communion. Finally, when leaving after Mass, you must go straight to your vehicles.

Please resist meeting in front of the church. Social distancing must be maintained all the way through the process. These rules can make it difficult to gain the same sense of family we are used to in our Parish. Join me in praying that God will soon give us relief from this terrible virus and grant assistance to all those who have been affected.

Yours in Christ, Dwight Klebe RECORDATORIOS PARA LAS MISAS

WHAT IS A STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY?

Stewardship in its simplest terms, is the act of putting God’s priorities before our own. Stewards respond to God’s call for ministry, a service to God and to other people.

Stewardship is a way of life. It is a giving of your “first fruits, which is an aspect of sacrificial giving; time, talent, and treasure to the Lord’s work, in gratitude for His sacrifice, mercy, forgiveness, and these opportunities for service to God and to others.

PRAYER

Prayer is the foundation with which to embrace stewardship. Through prayer we confront our spirituality and where we can meet and have a conversation with God. Prayerfully consider what

you can do for our Parish Community.

Contact the Parish Council at 360-374-9184.

FREE WILL IS GOD GIVEN

INSPIRING YOU TO BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF

Everything is a choice. This is life’s greatest truth and its hardest lesson. It is a great truth because it reminds us of our power. Not power over others, but the often-untapped power to be ourselves and to life the live we have imagined.

It is a hard lesson, because it causes us to realize that we have chosen the life we are living right now. It is perhaps frightening for us to think that we have chosen to live our life exactly as it is today, and we may not like what we find.

But it is also liberating, because we can now begin to choose what we will find when we look at our life in the tomorrows that lie unlived before us.

Love is a choice. Anger is a choice. Fear is a choice. Courage is a choice. Learn to master the moment of decision and you will live a life uncommon.
