DANCE STYLES TAUGHT
TODDLER CLASS is a great way for young children to enjoy music and movement.
Mums stay and help their children participate.
KINDER/PRE-PRIMARY CLASS is an introduction to dance class with lots of musical activities to promote rhythm and co-ordination.
- Acrodance for kinders (3, 4 and 5 year olds) A combo class with some dance skills and some acrobatic skills
CLASSICAL BALLET is the most graceful style of dance. Excellent for improving posture and poise.
JAZZ is an up-tempo and technical style of dance. Watch “Chicago” and “Moulin Rouge” for fantastic jazz dancing.
TAP is great for fun and fitness and making wonderful rhythmical sounds.
ACROBATICS is similar to gymnastics except it does not involve apparatus work. It assists with flexibility, strength and body control.
CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL is a fusion of ballet and jazz technique, showing the meaning of the music through choreography and interpretation.
HIP HOP is a very aerobic style of street dance done to all the latest music.
STUDENTS WHO LEARN ALL SIX STYLES OF DANCE RECEIVE THE SIXTH CLASS FREE
All the different dance forms complement each other and help to improve the students’
dance ability.
I suggest that students attend several classes per week. The rate of progress and improvement will be better by attending for several hours per week.
I strongly encourage all students (from year 1) to take classical ballet class to strengthen their dance technique. Classical ballet provides the foundation for all styles of dance, giving students training in posture, body awareness, control, poise and discipline.

Long hair should be tied up and long fringes pinned back off the face, so as not to bother students when they move.

All dance shoes should be worn with either socks or tights. This allows the shoes to slip onto the child’s feet more easily and keeps the inside of the shoes cleaner.
