These vacancies are within the asset management department, see further below for a short description of each of these roles. The incumbents will report to the Director: Asset Management or the relevant Senior Engineer for the area as the case maybe and shall be accountable for:

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with the policies and rules of the company and leading by example by living the company’s values and purpose of the company.

• Ensuring compliance with legal and DPM health and safety and environmental standards and requirements in area of responsibility and providing safety leadership and the promotion of a safety culture.

• Ensuring the availability and reliability of plant, equipment and systems to meet the business objectives of the company through the application of appropriate asset management best practices and effective use of resources.

• Implementation of the Asset Management Improvement Program (or “roadmap”) and the development of an Asset Management System (AMS) that meets the

• Effective supervision and management of the human, budget and other resources under his/her control to achieve the stated goals of the company.

• The development of human potential, collaborating and working with colleagues (teamwork) and stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• A recognized bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (heavy current) or equivalent to NQF level 8.

• For the senior roles a recognized master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or in business management may be an added advantage (NQF level 9).

• Registration as a Professional Engineer or eligibility to register with the Engineering Council of Namibia. Minimum experience requirements – candidates

with more relevant experience may have an added advantage

SENIOR ENGINEERS, PROJECT MANAGER AND SHUTDOWNS MANAGER POSITIONS:

A minimum of 10 years relevant post-graduate engineering work experience in the mining and ore processing industry or other heavy industry is required; including a minimum of 5 years management experience at Paterson D-upper level (or equivalent) accompanied by suitable management development programs.

ASSISTANT ENGINEER POSITIONS:

A minimum of 5 years relevant post-graduate engineering work experience in the mining and ore processing industry or other heavy industry is required. Previous supervisory or management experience is not a requirement but maybe an added advantage.

ALL APPLICANTS:

PROGRAM/PROJECT MANAGER: ASSET MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The purpose of this role is to implement the remaining phases of the asset management roadmap and to deliver the required outcomes. The role will coordinate the external and internal resources and stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the program. The typical candidate is a senior maintenance engineer (mechanical/electrical) with a solid maintenance track record of ore processing plants in an organized asset management environment complemented by appropriate asset management and reliability engineering training and knowledge; and experience of enterprise asset management systems such as IBM Maximo or other equivalent systems. The successful candidate may be appointed as a full-time employee or on a fixed-term contract as suits the parties. This is a D-upper position.

SENIOR ENGINEER: HOT METALS SECTION (MAINTENANCE)

This is a senior frontline leadership role within the core business of the company – the smelting of copper concentrates – and this role is accountable for safety leadership and the maintenance of the Ausmelt furnace and associated systems, the Converters and associated systems and the Materials Handling section and maintenance of all conveyors across the smelter. The role is suited to a strong and experienced mechanical or electrical engineer with broad experience in ore processing plants within an organized asset management environment complemented by appropriate asset management and reliability engineering training and knowledge. Previous experience in a hot metals or pyromet plants will be an advantage. This is an FTE D-upper position.

SENIOR ENGINEER: ELECTRICAL AND AUTOMATION

This is a senior technical leadership role to ensure the availability and reliability of electricity supply, electrical equipment, systems and infrastructure to achieve the production and business objectives of DPM Tsumeb. The smelter is a 24 MW operation and electricity is a key cost driver. Optimization of the energy mix and implementation of energy management initiatives to achieve tangible savings are a key deliverable for this position. This position will also oversee the instrumentation and automation function and ensure the smelter leverages its investment in Yokogawa industrial automation technologies towards the smelter’s digital transformation and realisation of tangible benefits. The typical candidate is an experienced hands-on senior electrical engineer (heavy current) with credible supply side experience and solid electrical maintenance experience gained in a production environment (preferably in the mines and ore processing plants).

Page 4 of 5 This role is the principal point of contact with NamPower and Namibia’s Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) and therefore requires knowledge and experience of Namibia’s ESI, power quality standards, HT transmission and associated protection systems, the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of MV and LV electrical systems and machinery and associated automation, control and protection systems in a production environment; applicable legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice. This is an FTE D-upper position.

SHUTDOWNS MANAGER/SENIOR ENGINEER

The smelter undertakes minor and major maintenance shuts to rebrick the Ausmelt furnace and PS Converters and to effect necessary repairs and refurbishment of the plant for the next campaign. The key deliverable for this position is to ensure that all shuts are effectively planned and executed to meet the objectives of DPM Tsumeb. The typical candidate is a senior maintenance engineer (mechanical/electrical) with a solid maintenance track record of ore processing plants in an organized asset management environment. We are looking for a shutdowns expert to lead our shuts and impart and embed proven processes, methodologies, and best practices within our shuts. Solid shutdowns experience shall be underpinned by solid training, theoretical framework and understanding of shutdowns. The successful candidate may be appointed as a full-time employee or on a fixed-term contract as suits the parties. This is a D-upper position.

ASSISTANT ENGINEERS

The senior engineers are there to provide technical leadership and management. The assistant engineers are there to anticipate, prevent, investigate, and resolve technical issues and problems and to analyse and improve existing systems and processes; all to ensure optimal online time for the smelter system. The typical candidate has completed his/her 2-3 post-graduate training as an engineer (mechanical/electrical) and in addition has an additional 2-3+ engineering experience in the design, investigation and resolution of a variety of engineering problems in a production environment. These positions are for inquisitive and self-driven contributors. Incumbents will progress their careers in a variety of ways consistent with personal aptitude and available opportunities. These are FTE positions in the C5 to D-lower level commensurate with the skills and experience of each candidate.
