We offer 2 distinct programs – the AAS Degree in Funeral Service (for those seeking both funeral directing and embalming licensure) and the Certificate in Funeral Directing (for those seeking only funeral directing licensure). The DMACC Mortuary Science Program has been a leader in online and on-campus funeral service education for the past 10 years.
The online program is designed for students who are working in a funeral home but are not able to move to attend mortuary school.
We encourage students to learn professional skills from the funeral directors and embalmers with whom they work.
The online program provides: weekly streaming lectures, regular online office hours with faculty, the ability to test in your location, interactive learning activities, minimal travel to campus to comply with accreditation requirements, as well as full-time, accelerated and part-time scheduling options to meet students’ needs. If you have already completed the general education requirements, the total cost is under $11,000.
