2 MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear St. Agnes School Parents,
A happy May to all of you. Goodness, we’re in the last month and the last few weeks of the school year!! Time keeps flying by!!
A huge thank you goes out to Maggie Cunningham, chairperson of our Fundraising
Committee, for planning and executing our first every St. Agnes School Virtual Auction. The event was a big success raising over $13,000. For more details, please see the information regarding the auction below. We are very blessed to have Maggie steer this committee and our fundraising events. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
Thank you for supporting the 2021 St. Agnes Virtual Auction! A total of $13,220.00 was raised - that is quite something for a virtual auction!!!!!. Many of the items sold for way above the market value. Thank you for your support!! Maggie Cunningham will be available to bring out your winning packages after dismissal this Thursday. Please pull into the gym parking lot and you will receive your prize.
St. Agnes Virtual Auction
The school year is quickly coming to an end, which means that the ten hours of service required for each family will soon be due. Parents of eighth graders must submit their service hours on our electronic Google Service Hour Form by Friday, May 14, prior to 8th grade graduation. All other families have a deadline of Wednesday, May 19 to submit their forms.
Please remember there will be a charge of $20.00 per hour for each hour less than the 10 required hours.
Service Hours
On Wednesday, May 12, High School Seniors who are 2017 St. Agnes graduates are invited to a special gathering to be held in their honor. The gathering will be held on the St. Agnes school parking lot from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, we will move into the Parish Center. We are anxious to join in congratulating the Seniors as they prepare for High School graduation and are excited to celebrate with those who graduated from St. Agnes School!
Alumni Gathering
As the end of the year draws near, we are preparing to celebrate all of the wonderful
accomplishments of our students. We’ll do this with our annual award ceremonies. This will be done much differently this year as we still have building capacity guidelines that must be followed. The following is the schedule for the ceremonies:

Our students in grades 2 - 8 have completed their MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing for the school year. You will be receiving by Thursday, via email, their final growth progress report. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

Each parent/guardian is required to notify the school office if a child will be absent that day. Homework requests may be made at this time for absences. Parents should call the school office prior to 8:30a.m. and may leave a message on the school answering machine if the secretary cannot be reached. An email may also be sent to Pam Kink, School Secretary

[email protected]). A call or email should be made each day the student is absent, unless it is known that the child will miss several consecutive days. If such is the case, the school can be informed with the first phone call/email of the consecutive absence and the
reason.
Each parent/guardian is required to notify the school office if a child will be arriving late or leaving early for an appointment. A
LATE ARRIVALS & EARLY DISMISSALS
written note in advance of the appointment is to be sent to the school office through the teacher for the release of a student from school for doctor, dental or other appointments. Emails may be sent to the teacher and to Mrs. Pam Kink
([email protected]) as well. A parent must personally pick up the child at the school office. A student must check in at the school office upon returning from an appointment to get an admit slip to return to class.
If your child must remain home for a period of up to 14 days due to being quarantined (and they’re feeling well and are able to complete school work), please utilize the following Remote Learning Daily Attendance Google form link (

PRE K 4
The PK 4 Moving On Program will be virtual this year. It will be emailed out to families for their viewing enjoyment on Friday, May 21st. These big kids are ready to “move on” to kindergarten!
GRADE K
We will take our last unit reading test tomorrow. We will be finished with the reading series! What great readers we have. We are also on our last letter of the alphabet, vowel U.
Please review sounds and sight words at home. We had to let our butterflies go. What a great learning experience this was!

Congratulations to Johnathan and Abi for earning silver certificates in Mathletics and to Johnathan for finishing 2 second extended addition in XtraMath.
TALENT SHOW
Our First Ever St. Agnes Virtual Talent Show will be recorded on Wednesday, May 12th!
Students have been practicing and all have assigned times to be recorded. If your child has a
"costume" to wear for their act, please make sure they have it at school on Wed, May 12th.

Students are expected to be changed and ready to go at their scheduled recording time. After recording, all students will change back into school uniforms for the remainder of the day. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. DePatis.

STUDENT COUNCIL
Way to go Aces! The April Career Spirit Day was lots of FUN! We saw students dressed as doctors, teachers, firefighters, athletes, farmers, and even superheroes! The future looks pretty bright at St. Agnes. ;) As a school, we raised $220.03 for Compass for Kids!! Thank you so much for your participation!
BUTTERFLY GARDEN
Do you enjoy the outdoors? Do you like to spend time with your children? Do you want to earn service hours for this year or next year? Why not volunteer to weed and water the butterfly garden at St. Agnes School? It would involve you and your child watering and weeding the garden one day this summer. Please send Miss Penning an email

LATE DAY BILLS
Late Day bills were emailed to parents on Wednesday of this week. If you did not receive the email, please check your spam/junk folder. Both parents were sent the bill. Please email Mrs. Cullers ([email protected]) if you need to remove an email
address. Families who regularly use Late Day will receive an email bill even if they have a zero balance.
Payment is due upon receipt of bill. Send Late Day payments in a separate envelope marked Late Day Admin - Payment. Any special notes for Late Day other than payments are to be sent in a separate envelope marked Late Day.
SHG INCOMING FRESHMAN
SHG Football is inviting all incoming freshman players and parents to an informational meeting on Monday, May 10th at 6:30 pm in the team room at SHG’s west campus. We will be providing information about the football program, summer workouts, practices, and games in the fall. The meeting will last about 30 minutes and will include a tour of the facilities.
