Setting Up VoIP Phone
Items Needed
1. Rath 2100 Series VoIP Phone 2. Static IP Address for VoIP Phone
3. IP Address of SIP Server and Authentication ID 4. PC with Network Interface Card
Note: Address for VoIP phone must be on same network as SIP Server
1. Supply Power to the VoIP Phone using either Power Over Ethernet (POE) or 12vdc.
2. Connect LAN Port of VoIP Phone to PC using Ethernet Cable 3. Change Computer IP Address
A. Navigate to Control Panel B. Navigate to Network Settings
C. Change IP to default IP Address range of VoIP Phone Recommended is 192.168.2.111
D. Change Subnet Mask Default is 255.255.255.0
5. Log into VoIP Phone
A. Enter 192.168.2.16 into web browser
B. Log into ATA with Login: Admin and Password: 7284 6. Navigate VoIP Phone
A. Click “Basic Settings” under the Menu Options on left-hand side B. Click “Region” under “Basic Settings”
7. Set Region Settings
A. Set the CPTG to USA/Canada B. Set the Ring to USA/Canada
C. Set Time Zone to corresponding Time Zone D. Click Submit
Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is recommended 4. Turn off wireless card on Computer (If Applicable)

9. Change Network Settings
A. Click Network Under Basic Settings B. Verify Routing Mode is in NAT C. Set the WAN IP Address to Static D. Set the IP Address
E. Set the Subnet Mask F. Set the Default Gateway G. Click Submit
10. When window pops up asking to restart ATA click OK 11. Wait 5 minutes for changes to take effect
Connecting Device to Network
1. Connect VoIP Phone to Network using WAN Port
2. Change the IP Address of the PC NIC Card to a useable address in same subnet as WAN Port 3. Connect PC to Network
4. Open Command Prompt
5. Ping IP Address of the VoIP Phone
6. If Ping successful, plug analog phone into FXS port and place a test call
7. After successful test call, 2100 Phone can be plugged-in and is ready for operation. 7. Modify SIP Settings
A. Under Basic Settings Click SIP
B. Check Box Next to SIP Trunk to Enable SIP Trunk C. Change SIP Trunk Mode to Proxy
D. Enter SIP ID for extention
Note: Will be same as information on SIP Server E. Create Authentication ID
Note: Will be same as information on SIP Server F. Create Authentication Password
G. Enter Register Server Address (IP Address of SIP Server) H. Click Submit
A. Naviage to FXS under Basic Settings B. Check “Enable” box next to SIP FXS Port C. Insert SIP Extension in “Name”
D. Enter device number for SIP ID in “Number” blank
E. Click on arrow under second box, this will expand more programming options
F. Under “Class of Service” only “Attendant Transfer, Confrence, Call Forward, and Blink Transfer” should be selected. G. Under “Advanced” and “Disconnect Signaling”, select “Open Loop Disconnect”
H. The “Open Loop Disconnect Timer” should be set for 600msec I. Click Submit

Adjusting the Volume:
If the volume is too low or high, adjust it by referring to the diagram and instructions below. *Note - Refer to the instructions under Programming the Phone to access the circuit board.
Adjusting the Microphone:
If the person you are calling reports your voice is not loud enough, increase the Microphone Sensitivity by adjusting VR2 ¼ turn clockwise (requires a small Phillips screwdriver).
Adjusting the Speaker:
If the voice of the person you call is not loud enough in the emergency phone speaker, increase the Volume, by adjusting VR1 ¼ turn clockwise.

Step 1. Begin Program Mode
A. Press Enter
Step 2. Program Emergency Numbers
A. Press 1, Enter, (Phone Number), Stop To Program numbers 2-5, repeat Step 2 a.
Step 3. Program Location Message
A. To Turn On Message Press 1, 3, Enter, 2 B. Press6, Record, (Wait for the Beep, Speak Your Message), Stop
(To Replay Message Press 6, Play/Pause )
C. Program Frequency of Message Press 1, 3, Enter, _ 0= Turn Message Off
1= Plays Message (1) Time
2= Plays Message (2) Times (Default)
3=Plays Message Until Receiving Party Presses * On Their Phone
Step 4. To Exit Program Mode
A. Press Stop For 3 Seconds
Example: To Program Emergency Number 2, Press2, Enter, (Phone Number), Stop

Keypad: Press 3, 4, Enter, (4 Digit Number in HH:MM)
Ex: 20 Minutes = 0020; 10 Hours = 1000
Remote: 3, 4, *, (4 Digit Number in HH:MM)
To turn off press: 2 3 Enter 3 2 3 Enter 7284 1 1 Enter 2
Testing of the Phone:
Push the silver emergency button to activate VoIP Phone: Did you hear a dial tone?
Did red LED become a solid light when you pushed the button? Did red LED flash and someone starting talking to you?
Could you hear the other party clearly? (if no, see “Adjust Speaker” on the next page) Could the other party hear you clearly? (If no, see “Adjust Microphone on the next page)

Troubleshooting:
Problem Possible Cause & Fixes
No dial tone when the button is pushed:
• Audio is low from the
speaker:
• Speaker control needs to be adjusted.
Called Party says audio is low:
• Microphone control needs to be adjusted. Audio is distorted from
the speaker:
• Speaker control needs to be adjusted.
• Check connections on all components in unit and network cable.
When called party hangs up, call staying connected.
• Phone system is not providing a disconnect signal. Verify Open-Loop disconnect settings on VoIP Phone following procedure in FXS Set Up.
Phone appears non - functional. LED does not flash and no audio is heard from speaker when button is pushed:
• Check to make sure SmartPhone is connected to FXS port on VoIP board. • Make sure the speaker holes are not blocked.
• Make sure the microphone holes are not blocked.
• Push button may be nonfunctional. Remove black Switch JST connector from SmartPhone
• VoIP Phone may not be recognized on network.
• Check to make sure phone line is connected to FXS port on VoIP board • Verify network connection going into unit.
