PURPOSE

This document explains the various pages and options for institutional registrations at OECD iLibrary. The login as administrator enables the management of the registration and changing settings via the My Account Details page.

BACKGROUND

Once a registration is setup with an administrator username and password the registration details can be adjusted, such as adding IP information or additional end-user usernames and passwords.

Signing in as an administrator will allow access to the My Accounts Details page via the link in the top right corner of each page. End users recognized via IP recognition or logged in with username and password will not be able to access this page.

HOW-TO Step 1:

Click on Login at www.oecd-ilibrary.org and enter the Administrator username and password Click the submit (>) button

If the registration is setup with IP recognition, click the institution name in the Welcome area in the top right corner of the page to get the Login page.

Verify your Administrator login in the Welcome area and click on the My Account Details link

to display the My Accounts Details page:

Currently, five options are offered. More will be added as the site is being developed further.

Edit Registration Details - for details such as name and address of institution and administrator including administrator username and password

Edit Authentication Details – for details about IP information and end-user usernames and passwords

View my Subscriptions – for a complete listing of OECD subscriptions associated with the registration and their details including direct links to the content home pages.

Customize the site with your institutional branding – for defining branding details and enabling the display of a branding banner along the top of each page.

MARC records – for retrieving bibliographical records in MARC21 XML format.

Enter your changes in the respective fields and click the Update button to save the changes.

Entering IP information:

• Add IP addresses in the format 123.123.123.123 with ranges indicated by an asterisk (e.g. 123.123.*.*) or a dash (e.g. 123.123.123.0-128)

Add multiple IP addresses at once separated by a semicolon but no space e.g. 10.12.13.14;123.124.12.*;202.13.4.14

IP addresses and ranges cannot conflict with other IP information in the same registration e.g. 12.12.5.6 and 12.12.5.* cannot both be entered since 12.12.5.* already includes 12.12.5.6 • IP addresses and ranges must be unique and cannot conflict with IP information in another

registration. An error message will notify of the conflict.

Enter your IP information and click the Update button to save the changes.

Adding/Deleting/Changing usernames and passwords:

Usernames and passwords must be unique across OECD iLibrary Usernames are not case-sensitive

e.g. the username “ABCuser” can also be entered as “abcuser” or “ABCUSER”, etc. • Passwords are case-sensitive

e.g. the password “abcUSER” must always be entered as “abcUSER” To Add an end-user username:

1. Enter a new end-user username in the Username field 2. Enter an end-user password in the Password field

3. Enter the new end-user password in the Retype Password field 4. Click the Update button to save the information

Note: Clicking the Cancel button will undo the entered changes and display the currently saved information again. To Delete a username:

1. Click an existing end-user username in the list

2. Enter the old password in the Old Password field in the expanded view 3. Enter a new password in the New Password field in the expanded view

4. Enter the new password in the Retype New Password field in the expanded view 5. Click the Update button to save the information

Viewing subscription information:

• Combined view of all current and expired subscriptions of the current OECD iLibrary registration • Each subscription references the related customer number (e.g. CU-0012345)

• Each subscription references the linked consortia registration which provides the access rights for the current registration

CUSTOMIZE THE SITE WITH YOUR INSTITUTIONAL BRANDING

To customise OECD iLibrary for your institution without using a logo of your company: 1. Click on the radio button next to the No logo option

2. Enter a title text in the field Title Name such as your company or library name

3. Enter some text in the field Description Text e.g. introducing OECD iLibrary to your users 4. Click the Save button to save the entered information

5. Click the Enable Branding button

to display a 60pixel high banner accros the top of each page in your browser window while using OECD iLibrary

To customise OECD iLibrary for your institution with uploading a logo of your institution: 1. Click on the radio button next to the Upload Logo option

2. Click the Choose File button and select an image file of your company logo from your local computer system to upload to OECD iLibrary.

3. Enter the web address (URL) of a web site the logo will link to when a user clicks on it in the field Target URL for logo

4. Enter a text for the pop-up box that a user will see when the cursors moves over the logo in the field Alt text for logo

5. Enter a title text in the field Title Name such as your company or library name

6. Enter some text in the field Description Text e.g. introducing OECD iLibrary to your users 7. Click the Save button to save the entered information

8. Click the Enable Branding button

9. Click the Disable Branding button to hide the branding banner across the top of the page 10. Click the link Edit/Update Branding to return to the main branding page to change your settings

To customise OECD iLibrary for your institution with a logo that is available online: 1. Click on the radio button next to the Enter Reference URL option

2. Enter the web address (URL) of the logo file on your web site in the field Reference URL of logo 3. Enter the web address (URL) of a web site the logo will link to when a user clicks on it in the field

To download MARC records with bibliographical data of all Books currently on OECD iLibrary:

1. Move the cursor on top of the XML icon just below All Books (including latest update) and use the secondary (right) menu command “Save link as …” or “Save Target as …” to
