Install the SDT200/SDT270 USB driver

Install the SDT200/SDT270 driver in windows XP

Install the SDT200/SDT270 driver in Windows XP

Please note: you need administrative rights on the computer

Before installing the SDT200/SDT270 USB driver, one of these softwares should already be installed on the computer: SDT270 Updater, DataDump, or Ultranalysis Suite. If this is not the case, please install the required software first. If you only need to update or upgrade the SDT270 device you can install the SDT270 Updater software. It is unwanted to install SDT DataDump or Ultranalysis Suite if this has not been advised to you by an SDT representative.

Step 1: Turn on the SDT200/SDT270 device. Wait until the device has booted up and the main

measurement screen is loaded.

Step 2: Connect your device with the mini USB/USB cable to your PC.

Step 3: Driver installation:

3.a) Automatically start driver installation

After you’ve connected the device, the computer may automatically show the window “Found new hardware wizard”:

If this window does NOT appear: è continue with step 3.b) If it does appear:

è Select the last option (“No, not this time”) and click the “Next'” button è continue with step 3.c).

3.b) Manually start driver installation

Click the “Start” button

Click (“Settings”) “Control Panel” Double click “System

Click tab “Hardware” Click “Device Manager

è In the tree, open the node “Network adapters

è The list should contain the option “RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget”, probably with a yellow exclamation mark in front.

è Right click the option “RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget” and click “Update driver...

è Select the last option (“No, not this time”) and click “Next” to continue.

è Select the second option (“Install from a list or specific location”) and click “Next” You should now see following window:

Deselect ‘'Search removable media'’ and select "Include this location in the search". Click the ''Browse'' button and select the folder Resources\Drivers of your SDT software.

If you use Ultranalysis Suite, browse to "C:\Program Files\SDT\Ultranalysis Suite\Resources\Drivers" or your install path.

If you use DataDump, browse to ''C:\Program Files\SDT\SDT270 Data Dump\Resources\Drivers'' or your installation path.

Choose ''Continue Anyway''. You will see the following screen:

Click ''Finish''. The installation is completed and confirmed by the following message:

In Windows XP, the driver needs to be installed for each USB port the SDT200/SDT270 device will be connected to. It is advised to install the SDT200/SDT270 driver on these other ports now, to avoid having to do it later:

è Shut down the SDT200/SDT270, disconnect it from the current USB port and repeat above steps for the other USB ports.

Click the “Start” button Click “Devices and Printers

Look for the device “RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget” right click it and click “Properties”:

è Choose the second option (“Browse my computer for driver software”) You should now see following window:

è Click the ''Browse'' button and select the folder Resources\Drivers of your SDT software. If you are using a 32 bit version of Windows 7 or Vista:

if SDT270 Updater was installed: C:\Program Files\SDT\SDT270Updater\Resources\Drivers if Ultranalysis Suite was installed: C:\Program Files\SDT\Ultranalysis Suite\Resources\Drivers if SDT270 Data Dump was installed: C:\Program Files\SDT\SDT270 Data Dump\Resources\Drivers

If you are using a 64 bit version of Windows 7 or Vista:

if SDT270 Updater was installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\SDT\SDT270Updater\Resources\Drivers if Ultranalysis Suite was installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\SDT\Ultranalysis Suite\Resources\Drivers if SDT270 Data Dump was installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\SDT\SDT270 Data Dump\Resources\Drivers
