11:00 a.m. HOLY EUCHARIST

THE GATHERING OF THE COMMUNITY

Celebrant Alleluia! Christ is risen.

People The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Celebrant May his grace and peace be with you.

People May he fill our hearts with joy.

Collect of Purity

Celebrant Almighty God,

All to you all hearts are open, all desires known,

and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you,

and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect

Celebrant Let us pray.

All O God,

your Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread.

Open the eyes of our faith,

that we may see him in his redeeming work,

who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

THE PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD

Reader The Lord be with you.

People And also with you.

Reader The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to…

36

Jesus himself stood among them and said to them,

“Peace be with you.”

37

They were startled and terrified, and

thought that they were seeing a ghost.

38

He said to them,

“Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your

hearts?

39

Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I

myself. Touch me and see; for a ghost does not have flesh

and bones as you see that I have.”

40

And when he had said

this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41

While in their

joy they were disbelieving and still wondering, he said to

them, “Have you anything here to eat?”

42

They gave him a

piece of broiled fish,

43

and he took it and ate in their

presence.

44

Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke

to you while I was still with you—that everything written

about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms

must be fulfilled.”

45

Then he opened their minds to

understand the scriptures,

46

and he said to them, “Thus it is

written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the

dead on the third day,

47

and that repentance and forgiveness

of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations,

beginning from Jerusalem.

48

You are witnesses of these

things.

At the conclusion of the Gospel, the reader says,

The Gospel of Christ.

People Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Sermon

The Nicene Creed

Celebrant Let us confess our faith, as we say,

All We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

2

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,

eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,

begotten, not made,

of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation

he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit

he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory

to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic

and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

Confession and Absolution

Celebrant Dear friends in Christ,

God is steadfast in love and infinite in mercy; he welcomes sinners and invites them to his table. Let us confess our sins,

confident in God's forgiveness.

Celebrant Most merciful God,

All we confess that we have sinned against you, in thought, word, and deed,

by what we have done,

and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves.

We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,

to the glory of your name. Amen.

Celebrant Almighty God have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in eternal life;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

People Amen. The Peace

All stand, and the presiding celebrant addresses the people.

The peace of the Lord be always with you.

People And also with you.

The members of the community, ministers and people, may greet one another in the name of the Lord.

THE CELEBRATION OF THE EUCHARIST Offertory

Prayer over the Gifts

Creator of all,

you wash away our sins in water, you give us new birth by the Spirit, and redeem us in the blood of Christ. As we celebrate the resurrection, renew your gift of life within us.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ the risen Lord. Amen

The Great Thanksgiving

Eucharistic Prayer 2

Celebrant The Lord be with you.

People And also with you.

Celebrant Lift up your hearts.

People We lift them to the Lord.

Celebrant Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Celebrant Blessed are you, gracious God, creator of heaven and earth; we give you thanks and praise

for the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord;

for he is the true paschal lamb

who has taken away the sin of the world. By his death he destroyed death,

(4)

5 All Holy, holy, holy Lord,

God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.

Celebrant Holy and gracious God,

accept our praise,

through your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ; who on the night he was handed over to suffering and death,

took bread and gave you thanks, saying, “Take, and eat:

this is my body which is broken for you.” In the same way he took the cup,

saying, “This is my blood which is shed for you. When you do this, you do it in memory of me.” Remembering, therefore, his death and resurrection, we offer you this bread and this cup,

giving thanks that you have made us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you. We ask you to send your Holy Spirit upon the offering of your holy Church. Gather into one

all who share in these sacred mysteries, filling them with the Holy Spirit

and confirming their faith in the truth, that together we may praise you and give you glory

through your Servant, Jesus Christ. All glory and honour are yours, Father and Son, with the Holy Spirit in the holy Church, now and for ever.

People Amen.

6

The Lord's Prayer

Celebrant As our Saviour taught us, let us pray,

All Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial,

and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen

Silence

The Breaking of the Bread

Celebrant Lord, we died with you on the cross.

All Now we are raised to new life.

Celebrant We were buried in your tomb.

All Now we share in your resurrection.

Celebrant Live in us, that we may live in you.

The Communion

The celebrant invites the people to share in communion and may say,

The gifts of God for the People of God.

People Thanks be to God.

The celebrant and people then receive communion. The sacrament is given with the following words:

The body of Christ (given for you). The blood of Christ (shed for you). Or The body of Christ, the bread of heaven.

The blood of Christ, the cup of salvation.

The communicant responds each time,

Amen

(5)

All whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.
