First Advisors Login Guide

In order to conform to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Authentication Guidance, our First Advisors site requires you to step through a new multi-factor authentication process. This guide walks you through this new process. When you log onto the First Advisors web site, the WebLink Login screen appears. First Advisors has assigned a User ID and a Password to you. This User ID and Password are required for you to access your portfolio. The current password guidelines of your First Advisors site remain as is.

Enter your User ID and click on Proceed.

If this is the first time you have logged into First Advisors site you must change your password. Enter your “old” password, then enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes. Click on Change Password.

If you are an active user of First Advisors site, you will not be required to go through the password change process.

This page allows you to update your password. The Following rules apply when you change your password.

You must select an image and provide a personalized caption. Both will become part of your login process from this point forward. The purpose of the image and caption is to thwart others attempting to persuade you into giving your password to a fake “First Advisors” site. Your login to the First Advisors site will always display the image and caption.

Click on an image.

You must set at least three Challenge Questions with valid responses. Click on Add to set each question.

You can select your questions from a list of pre-defined questions or you can add your own question(s). Click on Save once you have entered your answer.

Click on Save.

Desktop Registration

This option allows the user to skip the Challenge question in logins subsequent to the initial registration process when logging in to a registered device.

Appendix

Upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 (Windows XP/Vista)

Please note that the following procedure is applicable only on Windows XP or Windows Vista as Internet Explorer 8 is already installed on Windows 7. Also, to complete this upgrade, you must be logged into the local workstation as an Administrator. Please note that this will replace Internet Explorer 8; so, make sure that all critical sites indicate that they support Internet Explorer 8 prior to completing the following procedure. Manual Update to Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP or Vista:

1. Open Internet Explorer and go to the Internet Explorer 8 download page for your operating system:

3. If the yellow bar pops up at the top of the browser, blocking the download, right click on the bar and select Download File:

4. When prompted with the File Download – Security Warning, select Run. Accept the terms and click Next to complete the prompts. When prompted reboot the computer.

Upgrade to Internet Explorer 9 (Windows Vista/7)

Please note that the following procedure is applicable only on Windows Vista or

Windows 7 as Internet Explorer 9 is not available for Windows XP. Also, to complete this upgrade, you must be logged into the local workstation as an Administrator. Please note that this will replace Internet Explorer 8; so, make sure that all critical sites indicate that they support Internet Explorer 9 prior to completing the following procedure. [Note: this upgrade to Internet Explorer can also be completed through Control Panel > Windows Updates by selecting the Internet Explorer 9 update (if it does not show up as an update, it may be available under Restore hidden updates).]
