With more than 30% of the student body consisting of transfer students, Centenary is the preferred choice for students transitioning from a community college or another four year institution. We offer a liberal transfer policy and a hassle-free transfer process that will keep you on track towards your degree and professional goals.

What’s a liberal transfer policy?

In order to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Centenary College, you will need to earn 128 credits. Students from community colleges and/

or proprietary schools can transfer a maximum of 72 credits with a C- or better. You may transfer a maximum of 96 credits from a four year institution or a combination of credits from two and

four year institutions. You must complete a minimum of 32 credits at Centenary.

Transfer counselors are here to help

A transfer enrollment counselor is available to meet with you at any point during your transfer process;

this is a service that sets Centenary apart from other institutions. Starting your transfer process early will help ensure that your credits directly align with your major’s requirements. Centenary’s transfer counselors will also serve as your interim academic advisor,

offering you guidance from the pre-application process until your first semester of classes.

Two Ways to Apply to Centenary

1. The Common Application

Centenary College is a proud member of The Common Application, a not-for-profit membership organization that is committed to providing reliable services that promote equity, access, and integrity in the college application process. Membership is open to colleges and universities that promote access by evaluating students using a holistic selection process. To utilize The Common Application, go to www.commonapp.org. All aspects must be completely filled out online, including the Centenary College Supplement. A $30 application fee is required.

2. The Centenary College Application File

• Centenary College’s full-time undergraduate application is available online at www.centenarycollege.edu. There is a $30 application fee.

• Official college transcripts from all prior institutions attended.

• Proof of high school graduation (a copy of your diploma or transcript)

• Admission Essay: A 500-750 word essay on the topic of “How do you think your educational goals and objectives can be obtained by completing your education at Centenary College?”

• An academic letter of recommendation (download the printable file at www.centenarycollege.edu/

recommendation)

If you have earned fewer than 24 college credits you must also submit official SAT scores and high school transcript. If you are over age 24 you do not need an SAT score to apply.

Centenary College admits students without regard to race, color, sex, handicap, age or national origin.

Financial awards and

scholarships

Entering students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible for a Transfer Award. Transfer students who have attained membership in Phi Theta Kappa and have a minimum GPA of 3.5 may receive a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. For both awards, students must have at least 32 credits of full- time study remaining towards their Centenary degree. When completing the FAFSA be sure to include our Institutional Code:
