Welcome Package Bayerischer Wald
Welcome to Camp Adventure!
Our whole team is looking forward to an adventurous summer with you. In this Welcome Package you will find a summary of all important information about our camps in Regen. If there are any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
1. Travel Information
Following you will find a brief overview of our travel options. Please carefully read the information for your booked transfer(s).
Self-arranged travel:
Most of the parents drop off their kids at camp personally. That way, they also get the chance to meet the counselors and to explore the location. You can drop off/pick up your child at following times:
Arrival: Sunday 4 pm to 6 pm Departure: Saturday 10 am to noon Address: Raithmühle 2, 94209 Regen
Shuttle Train Station Regen/Plattling
Our staff will pick up your child at the platform where the train arrives, and they will also make sure that your daughter/son gets on the right train on the way back home. All our transfers from/to the train stations are accompanied by our teamers.
To pick up your child at the train station, we need the exact train details. These are queried in our online transfer questionnaire which we will send to you by email.
Shuttle Munich Airport
Our airport shuttles are accompanied by our teamers. They make sure that your child will be picked up at the airport, right after the baggage claim and will be taken to camp afterwards and they also help with the check-in on the way back. We will remind all children to give their parents a call once they have been picked up by our staff team. Please make sure that your child carries the filled in “Letter of Consent to Travel” when travelling alone and crossing the border. This document should be placed in the hand luggage as the immigration officers at Munich Airport might ask for it upon arrival. In case you have booked our UM-Service (Service for Unaccompanied Minor), you will receive all necessary information to pass on to the airline in a separate email. To be able to pick up your child at the airport, we need the exact flight details. These are queried in our online transfer questionnaire.
At Munich Airport we also offer a pickup at our meeting point at McDonald’s, located in the Munich Airport Center between Terminal 1 and 2. In case you have booked this option please be there at 3 pm on the arrival day and at 10.30 am on the departure day. Our staff can be recognized easily. They wear brown Camp Adventure T-Shirts and hold up a Camp Adventure sign.
2. Making Contact
Phone: We do not have a public phone at camp. If you would like to call your child, please provide him/her with a mobile phone.
Important for you to know: We collect all electronical devices (including phones) on the arrival day. This is the only way to ensure that all campers “log off” and relax during their vacation.
We will of course contact you in case your child gets sick or doesn’t feel well. Always remember – No news are good news! If you do not hear anything from camp or our office, your child will be fine!
During siesta time, right after lunch, all children get the chance to collect their phones in order to make or receive calls. We will re-collect the phones afterwards. At the weekend the children might be on a hike and can’t be reached at siesta time as they won’t have their mobile phones with them. So please don't worry if you don't get any messages/calls that day. Since calling home can cause homesickness, we generally advise to rather send a letter or an email.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no WiFi at camp!
Email: Letters and post cards sometimes take a long time to arrive. Therefore, we offer an email service that allows you to send an email to your child ONCE A DAY which we will print in the morning and forward to your child. Please note that this is a one-way service. Your child will not be able to answer your email. Also, in case you miss your child and would like to be called during siesta, just send an email to:
Please refrain from sending any attachments such as pictures, movies or cartoons as we won’t be able to print them out or show them to the kids.
Photos: Please understand that we cannot post all pictures during camps immediately on Facebook or our website. Our focus lies on taking care of the kids and offering them a varied program during their stay. Apart from that, the internet connection is often pretty slow at camp. All other pictures will be uploaded on our website
http://www.campadventure.de/en/photos around September.
3. Emergency Number
On the arrival and departure day and in case of emergencies (e.g. delays, sickness/death in the family), we can be reached 24 hours. Please use the given number only for urgent matters that cannot wait until our regular office hours. The line has to stay free for real emergencies, so please do not call this number, if you just have not heard anything from your child yet! Please note: This number is only accessible during our camp season.
Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. You can also leave a message on our answering machine and we will give you a call back as soon as possible.
Office Camp Adventure: + 49 40 4100 9 4900 Emergency Number + 49 40 4100 9 4911
4. Packing List
You will find a general packing list to print and tick off at the end of this information package. Tips:
1. Due to the fact that many kids carry similar clothes, we suggest that you label them. This will increase the chance of tracing and returning lost items.
2. We recommend a laundry bag for storing dirty clothes – in plastic bags humid laundry can easily get moldy. 3. It is helpful to pack clean clothes in differently colored bags to allow quick access to needed items without
having to rifle through all clothes and will also protect clean clothes from getting dirty.
4. We do not recommend taking any expensive electronic devices to camp as we cannot take any liability for valuables.
5. Your child needs to be able to carry her/his own bag on transfers. Please do not pack more than one normal sized travel bag plus a small hand luggage, ideally a rucksack that can also be used for excursions! 6. ONLY Adventure Camp: Those campers who stay for two or more weeks should bring a backpack that is
slightly bigger than a normal rucksack to carry a sleeping bag and camping mattress. This will enable your child to walk more comfortably during the hike.
Forbidden items:
- pocket knives with lockable blades - all kinds of weapons
- lighters and matches (risk of fire in the woods!)
Language Course: All students will be placed in a suitable course by our language teachers after arrival at camp. We provide all course material and stationery needed for the lessons.
Medication: All medication should be placed in a sealed bag labeled with the name of your child and a brief description of the treatment needed as well as a dosage instruction.
Documents: Please place the passport/ID, “Letter of Consent to Travel” (just when arriving by plane), copies of flight/train tickets, (EU) Health Insurance Card/confirmation, all medication and pocket money (approx. 20 € per week) in a sealable bag, labeled with your kids’ name and the camp she/he is travelling to, easily reachable in your kids’ hand luggage. We will collect these on the arrival day and store them safely for your child.
You can also find a mobile packing list on our website which you can use to create your own list by choosing and picking the items you would like to take to camp which will then be send to you by email including all details. Please do not forget to type in your email address in the window at the end of the list.

5. Internationality
We are proud to have such a big international team at our camps. With their experiences from many travels and their previously collected camp knowledge, they contribute a great deal to Camp Adventure.
Together with participants from different countries we form a cosmopolitan community that enables our campers to learn all about different cultures and to make friends with children from all over the world. Camp languages are English and German plus funny gestures and signs to help those understanding camp life who are still in the process of learning English.
6. Drugs and Social Behavior
For legal reasons, by conviction and as a result on our cooperation with the organization „No power to drugs“ it is strictly forbidden for all campers to possess or consume any kind of drugs including cigarettes and alcoholic drinks. Non-compliance with this rule will lead to the suspension from camp, and parents will be charged with the costs that might incur due to the offence to this rule. It is our belief that with all our activities and the great atmosphere at camp we offer much better alternatives anyway!
We would also like to point out that we do not accept any form of discrimination, bullying or violence at camp. We want to make a happy, relaxed and safe holiday for all campers no matter which age or nationality!
7. Homesickness
In case your child is travelling without you for the first time, we recommend our "anti-homesickness"- advisor which comes with some very effective tips! Please click HERE for our written advisor or HERE for our video tips.
