LOCAL SEO

SEO Marketing to improve your Digital Presence.

(2)

WHAT IS LOCAL SEO?

Populo Design SEO is ideal for local based businesses who only require online exposure

within their own Town or City.

If the majority of your business comes from local people and local businesses, it’s necessary

to secure a top online ranking within your local area to keep that flow of online activity

coming in.

Advertising in the Yellow Pages or Thompson Local can be very costly and to be

honest, more and more people will use their computers, tablets or mobile

phones to search for a local based product or service instead of opening

the Yellow Pages, for example.

Populo Design SEO will increase traffic to your website, increase

enquiries and increase sales / confirmed customers.

Project Management System Support – We will create you an

account within our online project management system and keep

track of your campaign and communication with our team.

As our PM system is hosted on a secure server, we can send files,

images, information and access details knowing it is safe.

Telephone support – Once you sign up, we will provide you with a

direct telephone number so if you have any questions you can give

us a call and speak directly to the consultant who is working on your

website.

As long as you call between the hours of 9am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank

holidays), we will answer and help.

Month 1

Access:

Website access details – In order for us to optimise your website so it is search engine friendly we require you to send us the login details to the admin area of your website. If you prefer not to provide your login details, we can send you a report on what changes need to be made.

Research:

Keyword research - We will complete an in-depth analysis of your website, industry and competition to determine what your prospects are actually searching for. We will recommend a list of targeted search phrases to optimise your website for.

Competition analysis – We will analyse your website alongside four of the top ranking websites within your industry to determine why they are ranking at the top. This will then provide us with a guide as to the amount of time required to get your website to the top.

Reporting:

Bad link analysis – Before we start to earn links to your website it is important to look through your existing backlink profile to see if you have any bad links already pointing to your website. With the help of the very latest technology we will scan through your existing backlink profile and provide a list of links deemed to be un-natural which may have a negative effect on your future rankings.

Back link clean-up – We will format all your existing bad links into a file which will then be uploaded to the Google Disavow Tool. This will inform Google to dismiss all these bad links when considering where to rank your website. Please note that the Disavow will go through faster if you manually contact each bad website and ask them to remove your link. This must be done by yourself using you domain related email address for authorisation. .. we will provide details.

Google tool setup:

Google Analytics integration and setup – Gaining top rankings is all well and good but how do you know if the selected search phrases are generating any traffic to your website ? By installing Google Analytics on your website and then integrating this into our own reporting software we are able to monitor how much traffic your rankings are generating.Google Webmaster Tools integration and setup – It is important that you have Webmaster Tools setup for your website as Google will monitor your site and send you a notification if anything is wrong so you are able to get it fixed.

(5)

Google + Page Setup:

We will create and setup a Google Plus business page. If you already have one, we will make sure it is all setup correctly with no errors.

Google Local / Places:

Again, we’ll set this up in the correct manor to ensure there are no errors.

On-Page:

Deep crawl analysis – Using a mixture of top industry tools and manual interaction we will go through your website to mimic the Google search engine spider bots. This will allow us to look at your website just like Google does and pick up on any errors or issues with the coding of your site that may cause a problem when trying to gain a top ranking. We can then help make changes to your site to fix these issues.

Speed test – We will conduct a detailed speed test to check how fast your website loads. Having a website that takes a while to load not only has a negative effect on your rankings but it rapidly decreases your conversion rate as people just do not stick around anymore waiting for slow web pages to load. A detailed report will be sent to you. Depending on what the results show will depend on the required action taken.

On-page changes – As long as you provide us with your admin access details, we will complete any on-page changes required in order to ensure your website is search engine friendly. We will perform the required changes that fully optimise the pages that relate to your selected phrases.

On-page grader report – Once the on-page changes have been completed. We will send you an on-page grader report which will show that your website now has an on-page grade A. It will also detail why this is the case.

Local citations:

A citation is anywhere online your business name, address and phone number (NAP) is mentioned. In order for citations to help increase your local SEO rankings it is essential that the details are exactly the same on each website where your NAP details are mentioned. These details must also match the contact details displayed on your website as well as them displayed on your Google Places page (Google Maps).

During the first month we will research the internet and provide you with a list of all existing citations. We will split them into ‘correct’ and ‘need attention’. Any citations that are listed in the latter list will need to be changed as the NAP details do not match exactly. Fixing what already exists has greater value than creating new citations as these old pages have already built up a certain degree of authority to contribute towards your keyword rankings.

(6)

Month 2 onwards

- Letting your target market know you exist

Citation building:

Now that we have all your existing citations matching in their details; we will work on finding new places to submit a citation of your business to. We will submit your details to at least ten websites we think suitable to list your details on. We’ll send you the list to confirm acceptance before we go ahead and place the citation on the found website.

Keyword review:

With some industries, it happens that things that are being searched this month does not always get searched every

month so each month we will review your selected list of keywords to see if they are still the best ones to get your website ranked for.

Homepage / Landing page optimisation review and tweaks:

Although we complete the optimisation on your website in the first month, it is important that we review this on a monthly basis and tweak things if required as it may be the case that you have added something on your website that has changed the optimisation grade.

Social Signals:

Now considered one of the top things Google look at when deciding where to rank your website, it’s important that we build up the social signals for your website. Social signals are third party people sharing a link to your website on their own social media accounts on various platforms. We do this by asking our network of loyal followers to share your website on their own social media platforms.

(7)

Although it is not highly targeted, it does have a positive effect on your websites’ social metrics and rankings. Each month we will send you a screenshot report showing how many times (in total) your website has been shared over the various platforms. We will mainly work on gaining social shares from Google+ as this carries the most weight. We are not however able to provide you with details of who has shared your website URL.

Building up Reviews:

One part of securing a top position in your local area is to ensure you have as many positive reviews posted on your Google+ page as possible. Although not an easy task, your customers need to post the review themselves, so we’ll work with you to help generate them all important positive reviews.
