PROGRAM OVERVIEW

In celebration of its 80th Anniversary, Industrial Bank has announced a Small Business Grant Initiative to provide the capital necessary to expand several existing, for profit, entrepreneurial enterprises to position them for long-term success. A total of $80,000 will be awarded to companies meeting specific criteria, doing business in Industrial Bank’s service area.

To accomplish this goal, Industrial Bank will partner with several organizations which operate in the space of small business and entrepreneurship to assist in the process of awareness

generation as subject matter experts. Partners include:

There will be a total of five grants awarded: one President's Award in the amount of $20,000 (best overall package) and four individual Enterprise Awards each in the amount of $15,000. Eligibility Requirements

1. Doing Business as a for profit entity for at least 12 months, no more than 5 years 2. Sales revenue of less than $1 million

3. Must be located in the Bank’s service area (District of Columbia; Prince Georges County, MD; Montgomery County, MD; Fairfax County, VA; City of Arlington, VA; and City of Alexandria, VA)

4. Must be lien and judgment free

5. Bank customers and noncustomers are eligible to apply

6. Current business certificate of good standing and/or business license

7. Only COMPLETE applications received by the application deadline will be reviewed 8. Proof of ownership of the designated business

Selection Criteria

Grant Applications will be reviewed in accordance with guidelines established by Industrial Bank:

1. Best possibility for long-term success 2. Sales/revenue prospects

3. Product or service viability 4. Innovation

5. Financial capacity 6. Economic impact 7. Marketing strategy

Grant Application Submissions

All Grant Applications must be submitted in one of the following methods: 1. Email: [email protected]

BUSINESS PLAN CHECKLIST

The following is a checklist to assist you with assembling your application. Your

Business Plan should include the following (Maximum 5 pages):

Executive Summary

a. Mission statement and/or vision statement for the company b. Description of the company

c. Description of the company’s products and services, and what differentiates them in the marketplace

d. Market analysis that discusses the market, competitors and where the company, product or service fit

e. Description of the management team, including the experience of key team members and previous successes

Marketing Plan

Analysis of the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and

threat

Detail major achievements, or pending opportunities such as:

a. Any developments within the company that are essential to the success of the business

b. Major achievements include items like patents, prototypes, location of a facility c. Any crucial contracts necessary for product development

d. Or results from any test marketing that has been conducted

Statement of any additional funding needed beyond what may be

provided by the grant
