Session Brief

Does the meetings and event industry really mean business when setting career pathways for employees?

Session Format

The format for this session will be an open discussion forum for attendees to discuss the current status of event education, relevant qualifications and training programs for the industry.

The Outcome of this session will be that the attendees conclude with some key recommendations that will assist prepare a draft project outline to investigate best practice in industry articulation, graduate programs and traineeships.

•To develop staff with a broad industry & company knowledge to take on management & leadership roles – identify and develop our future

High performing degree qualified grads – Events Management or Business degree focused

What does the program look like?

•Currently Sydney based with plans to expand to Melbourne •2 year rotation through operational business units including:

• Conference Management

• Registration & Delegate Services • Sponsorship & Exhibition

• Destination Management • Corporate & Special Events • Accommodation

What happens then?

Graduate moves into one of the above operational business units on a permanent basis and fast tracked towards management level
