What do you get when you mix the emotional appeal of a television spot, the reach and interactive power of the Internet, and combine it with the word-of-mouth persuasion of family and friends? We call it a unique, multi-media approach to economic development! The makekansasHOME.com

campaign targets young fami-lies currently living outside Kansas, who are yearning to return to the OPEN Roads, and safe, secure quality of life we en-joy and often take for granted.

The makekansasHOME.com

web site is the interactive conduit which connects former residents to Rural Telephone/ Nex-Tech’s economic develop-ment staff.

Visitors to makekansasHOME.

com simply complete a brief

online form which includes their contact information and the type of employment or business they are seeking. This informa-tion is automatically sent to the Rural Telephone/Nex-Tech economic development staff. They in turn forward contacts to

regional employers and follow-up on inquiries concern-ing housconcern-ing, schools, business and employment opportunities and the like.

Rural Telephone/Nex-Tech promotes the makekansasHOME.com web site with thirty-second com-mercials on twelve Nex-Tech cable television networks such as ESPN, CNN, Fox News, and Discovery, as well as articles in the company’s customer news-letter, and a link on its corporate web site.

Rural Telephone and Nex-Tech

Driven To Provide State-Of-The-Art

Technologies To Rural Kansans

Why? Because Kansas is home!

Forty years ago, state-of-the art telecommunications meant single party dial telephone service. With the development and deployment of fiber optics, and the explosion of the Internet, wide area networking, and Digital TV, that definition has changed. The cable that connects customers must provide more than POTS (plain old telephone service). As a result, Rural Telephone/Nex-Tech is bringing advanced, state-of-the-art broadband services to its customers by way of fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP), wireless, satellite, mobile wireless and various other fiber technologies.

Rural Telephone

and Nex-Tech

• Deploying

fiber-to-the-premise

technology in our

current and future

construction projects.

• Offering broadband

services to residents

of central and

western Kansas.

• Bringing voice, video

and data through

multiple technologies

to remote regions.
