Introduction

We increasingly rely on Skype for person-to-person and team conference calls, but Skype can’t help us remember important call details, such as what was said and the list of to dos ... until now.

Callnote for Skype, a free Windows and Mac app, introduced by Kanda allows you to record Skype conversations easily and then save the recordings to your Evernote account.

Features of Callnote for Skype include:

 Record Skype audio, video, chat and shared screen - all together or any combination.  Make instant snapshot photos of your video screen.

 Record your entire call automaticaly or start/stop recording whenever you want.  Take snapshots while recording Skype video.

 Manage your recording library right on your computer.

 View video, listen to audio, browse snapshots right on your PC or Mac.  Edit chat text and add your own notes after the call.

 Save your Skype recordings to any of your Evernote notebooks.  Store your Skype recordings in Dropbox.

Getting started the Application and allow access to the Skype

After launching application at first time, you’ll be asked to confirm access to the Skype.

You have to allow access. After then you’ll see the main window of the Callnote Application (“Call recording” tab).

Using the Callnote (Premium)

Recording of your conversation

“Record” Button starts recording. Then “Stop” button will be active.

“Stop” Button stops recording. Then “Play” and “Send” buttons will be active.

Recording options:

 “Always start recording when call starts”. If this option is set the Application starts recording when user has a conversation in Skype. Thanks to this option, you will not lose your conversation even if you forget to click “Record” button.

 “Notify participants that call is being recorded”. If this option is set, the Application sends to participants a message “Your current call is recorded with Callnote”. So your participant will be informed about recording.

 “Record chat messages”. Callnote Premium will record chat messages between participants of call.

 “Record video”. Callnote Premium will record area of Skype conversation as video file.  “Skype on top”. Callnote Premium will place Skype window on top of other windows after

video recording starts.

Why Callnote Premium?

Callnote Premium Skype Video Recorder continues where Callnote Skype Call recorder left off. When Skype audio recording isn’t enough, use Callnote Premium to record Skype Video. Recording Skype chats and Shared Screen are also included.

Manage your conversations

Callnote is more than just a Call Recorder – it is also a call recordings manager. It gives you the ability to view recorded Skype conversations (audio and video), edit recorded Skype chats and delete outdated Skype call recordings. You can preserve your Skype video recordings in the cloud – in your Evernote notebook or Dropbox storage.

You can choose which part of record forward in “APPLY TO” column:  Chat. Sends record’s text.

 Audio. Sends record’s audio. For Facebook and YouTube Callnote will create video files from audio.

 Video. Sends record’s video if it exists.

 Snaps. Sends snapshots if they exist. Callnote will not send snapshots to YouTube. Edit record dialog:

 Save. Saves edited note.  Play. Plays record’s media file.  Cancel. Cancels changes.

Set accounts

You can use different services to store and share your conversations. To manage your accounts select the “Account” Tab. All services have this common options:

 Send to %SERVICENAME% automatically. After recording Callnote will send record to service immediately.

 Request confirmation before sending. Before sending Callnote will show confirmation dialog.

Applications options

Options:

 “Start on system start-up”. If this option is set Callnote application starts on system start-up.  “and minimize”. Set this option to minimize application on system start-up.

1. How can I get account at Evernote?

You can register in Evernote if you follow this link https://www.evernote.com/Registration.action

2. Where are my conversations files located?

Files can be opened by double clicking on record in Library tab.

Callnote stores records in its folder and on local computer. Callnote folder for Windows is in “My Documents” folder, more specific:

Windows XP/Vista/7: %USERS%\%USERNAME%\My Documents\Callnote or Computer\Documents For Mac OS it is in user home folder, more specific:

Mac OS 10.7/10.8: /Users/%USERNAME%/Library/Callnote
