Objective I
•
Improved access to quality PC for patients and families
throughout
:
– Developing a PC Information Centre for patients and families, which will run a website,
hold regular courses for carers, develop, publish and distribute brochures on simple
nursing intervention.
Objective II
•
Increased access to PC nursing training at undergraduate
level of education through
:
– Training of trainers (ToT) course for undergraduate teachers responsible for
PC modules in the public nursing colleges in Romania;
– Ongoing technical support and provision of best practices to trainees;
– Follow-up on the activity of the participants at the ToT course. Monitoring and
evaluation (M&E) of their performance between February and July 2015
Objective III
•
HCS - ensuring access to quality PC education and training of
profesionals at regional level
:
– Organizing 2 PC Leadership programs;
– Assisting participants coming from CEE countries with their own M&E and quality
improvement framework on the projects they applied at the leadership programe;
– Follow-up on the activity of the participants at the leadership programs through
monthly skype conferences between mentors and mentees for 12 months after the
residential course;
– M&E of their performance in advancing with their project proposals at 6 and 12
Objective IV
•
Increased access to PC nursing training at postgraduate level of
education throughout:
– ToT course for trainers associated to each National Order for Registered Nurses (NORN)
local branch, providing continual medical education (CME) to nurses of different
specialities;
– Ongoing technical support and provision of best practices to trainees;
– Follow-up on the activity of the participants at the ToT courses. Monitoring and evaluation
of their performance at 6 and 12 months after the course, through pre and post tests
applied to participants at the courses held by trainees.
– Creating a library in PC nursing, addressed to the nursing community, in order to provide
updated information and thus contribute to assuring continuum of care to cancer patients.
Objective V
• HCS - ensuring accesss to quality PC education and training
of professionals at national level:
– Develop training materials based on existing Level C curriculum;
– Roll-out specialty course in PC;
– Research the impact of professional competencies of nurses in PC specialized
services in Romania in order to establish at national level a plan of
professional development for these nurses and determine the need for more
specialized education for the delivery of high quality palliative nursing care.
