Your Bermuda Riviera-Home Owners Association (BR-HOA) Board of Directors is delighted to bring you the 2013 edition of our official Guide & Directory.
This publication comes as a direct result of your requests and is in keeping with our continued goal to improve and increase communication in our neighborhood. Every homeowner and resident in our Bermuda Riviera neighborhood has received a copy and additional copies will be available as needed through our Association. Board member, Anne Davies-Vicino has worked closely with our Publisher, George Mihaiu of Fort Lauderdale Media Associates to bring you this helpful and informa-tive guide. (If you see Anne out and around, please thank her and tell her what you like about the Directory!)
In addition to the listing of homeowners and contact information always included in the Guide, there are new features that will increase its usefulness and value. Among the features included are City emergency numbers and important city con-tact information, our Association Board and membership information, the always-popular street index and a new calendar of events of interest to our neighborhood for the coming year. The Homeowners Guide & Directory also, includes ads and classified listings featuring our local business community sponsors who provide the many home, retail, dining and professional services we all need and enjoy. On behalf of the City of Fort Lauderdale, congratula-tions on your new Neighborhood Guide and Directory! Communication, citizen participation and community engagement are the cornerstones of building strong neighborhoods and a vibrant, sustainable City. The Bermuda Riviera Homeowners Association direc-tory will encourage neighbor-to-neighbor interaction, facilitate the exchange of information and ideas, and promote the sharing of resources and services in the neighborhood and throughout the community.
It will also serve as a useful tool that will enable neighbors to quickly and effi-ciently locate emergency telephone numbers, contact information for the Bermuda Riviera Board of Directors and the City of Fort Lauderdale, as well as a neighborhood street index and community calendar.
We’d like to commend board member, Anne Davies-Vicino, who spearheaded this project along with the leadership and support of President John Holmes and the entire Bermuda Riviera Board of Directors. Your hard work and perseverance has resulted in a first-class publication that will fulfill a community need and serve res-idents for years to come.
We would also like to recognize all of the local businesses and organizations that have supported this effort through advertisements and in-kind donations. Their participation and contributions helped maximize resources while keeping costs at a minimum.

Mayor’s Message - John P. “Jack” Seiler
A
s Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner representing District I, Bruce Roberts is continuing a long and dis-tinguished career of serving the citizens of Fort Lauderdale and working to enhance, improve and strengthen the community.Commissioner Bruce G. Roberts was elected to the City Commission on March 10, 2009 and reelected in 2012 with 84% of the vote. Commissioner Roberts graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration Crimi-nal Justice from St. Thomas University, and is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute,
Command Officers Development Course. He entered the law enforcement profession as a police officer for the City in 1973, was promoted through the ranks of the De-partment, culminating with his appointment as Chief of Police from October 2001 until May 2008. He is deeply rooted in the community, having grown up in the area he now represents. He has been married to his wife, Scharlene, since 1979, and they have resided in their current home in Imperial Point since 1992. The Roberts’ two children are also graduates of Cardinal Gibbons High School.
He has served professional and civic organizations, including the Greater Fort Laud-erdale Chamber of Commerce, the Florida and Broward County Police Chiefs Associ-ations, the Advisory Board of the Broward County Crime Commission, the Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse, the Broward Workshop Criminal Justice Committee, the Fort Lauderdale Police Officers Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Present appointments include the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organiza-tion, the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management AssociaOrganiza-tion, the Florida League of Cities – Urban Administration Committee, and the Broward County Consolidated Communications Committee.
Commissioner Roberts currently also serves as Vice Mayor. As City Commissioner, Bruce Roberts continues to serve the citizens of Fort Lauderdale, working to make Fort Lauderdale the best place to live, work, play, visit and raise a family. His top five issues are still citizen participation in government decisions; effective and efficient public safety; collegial leadership on the City Commission; balanced economic devel-opment that will protect our neighborhoods and green space;
