E-Bucks Simulated Economy

Guidelines

The E-Bucks Simulated Economy was based on a token economy of individual reinforcement of desired behaviors in which tokens are administered and exchanged for rewards. All students are required to participate in the E-Bucks Simulated Economy. In addition, students will earn points for turning in their E-Bucks Balance Sheet every two weeks. E-Bucks can be earned by each student in a variety of ways. There will be an auction each quarter for students to redeem their E-Bucks for various prizes (determined by the teacher). Therefore, E-Bucks are only good for one quarter; students cannot bank Bucks for the next quarter. Students can apply for jobs in the E-Bucks Simulated Classroom Economy every two weeks. Students will be required to keep accurate records of their E-Bucks and will be audited every two weeks.

Job Postings

Students can apply for jobs every two weeks (Banker, Insurance Agent, Auditor, Sheriff, Realtor, Janitor, Lottery, and Paper Passer). Salary for each position and job description are listed below. Students cannot repeat the same job two times in a row. Pay can be reduce based on job

performance.

Sheriff $50.00 every two weeks plus half of the violations that they write up

Duties:

 Keep track of All students who violate rules such as hats on during class, listening to their

IPOD, using their cell phone, etc.

 Give fines to students at the end of the two weeks and then collect the fines and turn in

the appropriate money to teacher.

Banker $50.00 every two weeks NOTE: No Banker – No Money

Duties:

 Be on time to class

 Pay All students who are in the classroom before the last bell has rung

 Pay students for their jobs at the end of the two weeks.

Insurance Agent $60.00 every two weeks

Duties:

 Sell insurance to students on Monday/Tuesday only

 Keep track of students who purchase insurance and who owe money because of drawing or

who need to be compensated because of drawing

Auditor $30.00 every two weeks

Realtor $40.00 every two weeks

Duties:

 Collect rent from tenants every two weeks

Lottery $20.00 every two weeks

Duties:

 Go around and collect money from those students who want to participate in the lottery  Turn money and tickets into the teacher. Figure out how much the winner will receive ($50

beginning amount and 2/3 of what the students contribute)

Janitor $50.00 every two weeks

Duties:

 Pick up garbage on the floor at the end of the class period  Push in all chairs at the end of the class period

Paper Passer $30.00 every two weeks

Duties:

 Pass back graded papers to fellow classmates when they are available.

E-Buck Insurance

All students can purchase the every two weeks advertised insurance policy from the class Insurance Agent on Monday/Tuesday only. The cost of the insurance will be $20.00 for two weeks. If you are absent on a Monday/Tuesday you cannot purchase insurance for the two week period. Insurance may protect the students from the following events such as:

 Natural Disasters  Fire, Flood, or Theft

 Personal Loss (Downsizing, illness, etc.)

 Car Accident

Disasters will be drawn daily except on the day that you buy insurance.

Students will create disasters at the beginning of each semester. I will set the financial limit of the disasters. Disasters cannot be personal. Example: Miss. Arnzen lost $50 E-Bucks.

Good disaster example is All students in row 1 had a hurricane and have to pay $50 E-Bucks. However if the student purchases insurance for natural disaster, they do not have to pay.

E-Buck Rewards

Every quarter there will be an E-Buck Auction and students purchases prizes and rewards. Examples of rewards: gift cards, food, candy, extra credit, late points (buy back), buy out of an assignment, etc.

E-Bucks Disclosure Statement

 E-Bucks are Your Responsibility! Bank of E is NOT Responsible for E-Bucks that are LOST or

STOLEN.

 You must keep accurate records of your E-Bucks. All E-Buck debits and credits MUST be

recorded on the E-Bucks Balance Sheet. All students are required to turn in their E-Bucks Balance Sheet every two weeks either on Thursday/Friday. Students who do not turn their E-Bucks Balance Sheet on Thursday/Friday will receive a zero. Excused absences will be dealt with on an individual basis. The E-Bucks Balance Sheet will be provided by the teacher.

 Teacher may change Disclosure Statement at anytime.

E-Bucks Criteria

Important Message:

Each student is responsible for protecting their E-Bucks earned in Introduction to Business Management Class therefore if a student looses their E-Bucks their E-Bucks will not be replaced by the Bank of E.

Students will be PAID DAILY for being on time and sitting in their assigned seats! YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO GET PAID! Students must keep accurate records on their E-Bucks Balance Sheet to receive their PAY DAY E-BUCKS as well!

Criteria to Earn E-Bucks on a Daily Basis:

Receive $10 Being in the classroom before the Tardy Bell Receive $200

(per Guest Speaker)

Work with teacher to schedule appropriate Business Guest Speaker (up to six Guest Speakers per class)

Receive $50 Create Unit/Chapter poster for classroom display and 60 second oral presentation to the class

Receive $30 Student appropriate participation in school Professional Dress Wednesday

Receive $50 Zero tardies per quarter

Receive $50 Each bathroom pass that you have at the end of each semester Receive $20 60 second class presentation Topic-Interesting Current

Volunteer Work completed (See Ms. Arnzen for form) – up to 30 hrs per quarter Receive $200 Parent Participation at Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Receive $200 Participate in Business Professional of America

Receive $50 per student Recruitment of potential BPA Students (Three students must locate teacher-Ms. Arnzen)

Receive $50 Creation of Personal Business Cards (Name, address, email, phone, class hour, teacher, business idea, business logo).

Receive $50 Banker-Must be present to get paid the full amount

Duties-Pay each student for being on time to class every day Receive $50 plus half of the

violations

Sheriff-Must be present to get paid the full amount

Duties-Complete a Sheriff’s report of students who commit violations in class and collect fines

Receive $30 Auditor- Must be present to get paid the full amount

Duties-Audit all students. Collect fines for inaccurate records and turn all money into Ms. Arnzen

Receive $40 Realtor- Must be present to get paid the full amount

Duties-Collect rent from tenants every two weeks

Receive $60 Insurance Agent- Must be present to get paid the full amount
