(14)

Operation

➡ Observe the following notes for operating the device:

If the device or the cables connected to the device are located near sources with strong radiation (e.g. radio transmitters, magnetic fields), the video image may be distorted.

The device is equipped with Automatic Gain Control (AGC). In low-light conditions the image may be altered (e.g. noise). This is not a malfunction.

The video image quality depends on the lighting conditions and the used monitor.

The accuracy of the Automatic White Balance (AWB) algorithm depends on the used lighting.

7 Requirements

Operating Mode and Ambient Conditions

The device is designed for 24/7/365 continuous operation.

However, the device may only be installed and operated indoors and under suitable ambient conditions.

NOTICE

Damage to the device due to unfavorable ambient conditions

Use of the device under unfavorable ambient conditions may shorten the lifetime of the device and may cause malfunction or damage to the device. ➡ Do not install and operate the device in environments with

a large amount of dust and dirt,

water or oil vapors (e.g. in a kitchen),

exposure to direct sunlight for a longer period of time,

high heat radiation (e.g. generated by a radiator),

nearby strong radiation sources (e.g. radio transmitters, magnetic fields),

a corrosive atmosphere, such as indoor swimming pools with a high concentration of chlorides, in the immediate vicinity of a sea or near a coast with salty air, or in industrial areas with the presence of aggressive elements (gases, vapors, solvents, chemicals, etc.),

areas of explosive hazard due to flammable material (gas, vapor,

mist or dust),

poor air circulation or heat dissipation (e.g. in insufficiently dimen-sioned cavities).

(16)

Power Supply

The device can be operated with Power over Ethernet (PoE+) and is com-patible with all Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) that is compliant with the IEEE 802.3at PoE standard.

Alternatively, the device can also be powered by an external 24 V AC power supply unit.

WARNING

Electrical shock caused by live electrical parts as well as due to the lack of or improper earthing/grounding

Risk of death or serious injury

➡ All work on the device (including the connection of peripheral equip-ment) may only be carried out by qualified personnel and in a volt-age-free state (verify the absence of voltage).

➡ Before connecting or disconnecting an external AC power supply unit, make sure that the power supply unit is disconnected from the mains socket (pull the power plug out of the socket).

➡ Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant earthing/ grounding of the device in accordance with the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards in order to ensure the safety of persons (protection against dangerous contact voltages).

NOTICE

Damage to the device due to improper power supply Damage to electronic components or serious malfunctions

➡ Do not operate the device with Power over Ethernet (PoE+) if the device is powered by an external AC power supply unit.

(17)

17

COMMISSIONING – DDZ5200HD Indoor Series SM | REV. 1.0.0 | © 2021 Dallmeier Power over Ethernet (PoE+)

If you operate the device with Power over Ethernet (PoE+), observe the following notes:

NOTICE

Damage to the contacts of the RJ45 connectors by contact erosion when un-mating the jack-plug connection under PoE load

Un-mating the jack-plug connection while transmitting PoE power causes erosion and pitting by electrical arcs on both the jack and plug contacts (especially when repeatedly un-mating the jack-plug connection under PoE load).

Electrical arcs are generated, since the electric potential difference (voltage) and therefore the intensity of the electric field between the contacts rises sharply when un-mating the jack-plug connection.

The more un-mating cycles are carried out under PoE load, the higher the loss of contact material due to metal evaporation by electrical arcs, which in turn accelerates the material erosion process on the contact surfaces. Damaged contacts with an increased contact resistance may lead to a reduced data transfer rate, unreliable network connectivity or even total device failure.

➡ Always disable PoE on the relevant port of your PoE switch (or PoE midspan device) or disconnect the used single-port PoE injector from the power supply before un-mating the jack-plug connection in order to prevent damage to the contacts of the RJ45 connectors by contact erosion.

(18)

Earthing/Grounding

The device must be properly earthed/grounded in accordance with the locally applicable regulations (regional and country-specific legal requirements and standards) before commissioning.

NOTICE

Damage to the device or serious malfunctions due to the lack of or improper earthing/grounding

Damage to electronic components caused by lightning strikes or over-volt-ages (electrical surges) as well as malfunctions due to electromagnetic interferences (EMI)

➡ Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant earthing/ grounding and a correct (lightning protection) equipotential bonding of the device in accordance with the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards in order to ensure the safety of the device (protection against lightning strikes and over-voltages) and its immunity to electromagnetic interferences (EMI).

(19)
(20)

8 Maintenance, Inspection and Cleaning

Maintenance and Inspection of the Device

The operational safety of the device has to be inspected periodically by qualified personnel.

However, note in this context that all maintenance, inspection and repair work on the device may only be carried out in compliance with the locally applicable regulations (regional and country-specific legal requirements and standards), such as the DIN VDE 0701-0702* series of standards.

* VDE 0701-0702: Inspection after repair, modification of electrical appliances – Periodic inspection on electrical appliances –

General requirements for electrical safety

WARNING

Electrical shock caused by live electrical parts Risk of death or serious injury

➡ All maintenance and repair work on the device may only be carried out in a voltage-free state (verify the absence of voltage).

NOTICE

Possible damage to the surface coating of the polycarbonate dome bubble as well as reduced image quality due to fingerprints

➡ Do not touch the polycarbonate dome bubble with bare fingers. Instead, always use the supplied pair of gloves to prevent a reduction in image quality due to fingerprints and to protect the surface coating of the dome bubble from possible damage caused by sweat and grease deposits.

(21)

21

COMMISSIONING – DDZ5200HD Indoor Series SM | REV. 1.0.0 | © 2021 Dallmeier Cleaning the Device

The device has to be cleaned regularly to prevent the formation of deposits that may permanently damage the surfaces of the device.
